Guest guest
Welcome Lyn! Where do you live? I am in Oklahoma and have an almost 3 year old daughter with mosaic DS. I did not have a prenatal diagnosis but wish I would have to be more informed. So glad you found the site. Everyone has been so supportive. If you have questions, ask away! Guest guest
Hi - Thank you. I live in southern New Hampshire, but am originally from Boston. I did not find out the gender of either of the other 2 kids prior to birth (my daugther will be 4 in July, my son Jack will be 2 in June) and didn't want to find out this time either, but now I am so overwhelmed I am thinking about asking. I am not finding very much on the web to help me understand what my future and the baby's future will hold. The genetic counselor today told me by phone that out of the 5 cell lines they looked at, 2 showed Downs and 3 did not and that is how they arrived at the Mosaic diagnosis. They are going to schedule me to see a geneticist next week (hopefully) to give me more information. Did anyone in this group have a similar experience with their amnio? Can some of you please share your experiences? I am waiting for my husband to get home from work to tell him. I know that he will not react well, based on how he handled the AFP results which sent us in for the amnio. He is basically not able to talk about it. I am very afraid that he is going to shut down. He has refused to tell his family any of this so far, and I am not sure what will happen with this news. Thank you! Lyn Welcome Lyn and family! Hi Everyone We have a new family joining us today!
