Guest guest
Taken from the Aspergillus UK chat board. I have not tried this as I do not have sinus problems, but it sounds logical to me. Sharon K " Judy, I have written about this before but will again as you mentioned your sinus infection. When I went to see my ENT Specialist on 12 March 2007 he was astounded at the positive progress in my sinuses. He said it was the best he had seen since I got the infection with Aspergillus Niger in 1999, along with a mycobacterium chelonae infection. I had told him about my use of hydrogen peroxide, and he says doctors use it a lot in operations in surgery of the ENT area. He told me earlier in January that it was ok to proceed with my use of it. After I visited his clinic in March he said " I think I will get you onto my staff as I have two patients who have nasty sinus infections that I cant seem to clear up " . He asked again the dilution I am using: I take 1/4 cup 6% hydrogen peroxide which I get from the chemist. Then add + 1/4 cup normal saline to dilute it to 3% hydrogen peroxide. Then I add a another 1/2 cup of normal saline which gives me a 1.5 % hydrogen peroxide mixture I use to irrigate my nose. After I bought two litre bottles of normal saline, I now make my own saline solution to cut down the costs. I use the dental irrigation system, with a Grossen adapter for the nasal part. This helps me get into the sides of the nostrils and towards the forehead, as you can point the adapter into the area you want. He was so excited when he saw how clear my sinuses were that he is now using it on two of his patients. I am sure if you want to give it a try it would be worth discussing it with your doctor. Print off my email to show him what we do here in Ausralia. I recently had a left cataract operation and went without nasal irrigation for about 10 days. I felt the extreme need to restart irrigations - and I couldn't believe the dark green mushy drainage plus the lemon yellow which is staph aureus that came out. Three days later I am back to normal - and will now need to irrigate only once a day. " ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Below is info on a Grossen nasal irrigation adaptor. It attaches to a Waterpik. My daughter has been using one of these for years. Quite amazing (and gross) what this little attachment helps get out of her sinuses. _http://www.inmunotek.com/xItek3.html_ (http://www.inmunotek.com/xItek3.html) Sharon K ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
