Guest guest
I'm just gonna share my experience and I dont know if anyone else has had this happen to them or not. But right after I went deaf a lot of people said write to ALDA and they will give you all this help. I wrote to ALDA the first time and got a response that they were gonna give my info to someone else and they would contact me. I never was contacted so after a while another friend that has NF that isnt on the crew urged me to try again. I tried again and got a response this time but only one...I wrote back again and still go no response except my information was given to someone else and they would contact me. Of course this didnt happen, so it seems like they really didnt give a crap. Maybe it was because I didnt send them money right away, so they didnt feel the need to help? I really think that is the case here - I was directed to their web site of course and I didnt write out that check, so I might be deaf but if you dont write the check, you dont get the help I guess. It seems from my observation that they want too much for ALDAcon also. Someone recently posted that NF corp was giving them all these grants/funds to help out with ALDAcon. But they still charge us NF'rs the full ass amount. I would love to go but cant afford what they want to pull out of my pockets. Where is ALDA using all this money going that NF foundation is giving them? Obviously they would still have the RT paid for if any NF'rs showed up or not becuase everyone is late deafened and that is a necessity among other things also. You'd think they might give a discount or try to help NF'rs get there if NF foundation is handing over all this money. But their thanks is the full blown amount and their more than happy to take your money. -Doesnt really think ALDA is that great and their money sucking pigs in my opinion! -Earl
