I totally agree. It is very hard to not let the fear and anger take over when u struggle every day and see other moms have it so easy and then complain about their nt kid not listening or something. They have no clue. I try very hard to tell my son how proud I am of him for each of his achievements no matter how small. I make a point to hug him and tell him how much I love him no matter what and no matter how much he pushes me away. I am in for a hilly ride with this diet change and nit having a supportive husband is hard as he complains when I buy new things to try like almond butter cause he thinks it's gross. Sigh... God help me is my daily hourly prayer. You are an inspiration . God bless that that u r here to help us.Lorree. Sent from my iPhone

I've felt the need to be pretty strict with my family. Some of it coming from research and some from my fear, anger, fear I'm sure.

In any case it's been 6 years of dietary work and though it's been rough, there are some really funny times.

Recently I stayed with my son in a hotel in Dallas for Brain Balance. I was traveling from Houston each week. I did my very best each week to leave my husband with all the right tools to care for our daughter.

Once I came home from my long drive back to Houston and Taylin says "hey daddy, can you make one of those really syrupy banana waffle sandwiches."

I almost died!

Then she says "mama, can you come here, my bagina (she mixes her V for B) is bery bery red."

Well of course, your daddy just threw my 5 yrs of work with you out the window. A yeast infection.

Sometimes more important than being strict and perfect is to just laugh. I let the fear of autism take the laughter out of our home for awhile and it was killing us. I think sometimes with our good intentions we think that pushing the kids is the right thing. It's got to be a balanced approach. The kids need to know that you are in charge and won't back down. But they also need to feel your love and see you celebrate and laugh and really enjoy all the good that comes along the way. They are only kids once.

Lorree only moms have helped me and I had women stand by my side every day while

I figured it all out. I was a nut for sure. I'm so thrilled to be able to

give back. I was so truly blessed!

all the best Lorree
