Yesterday a friend called me on the phone asking for a reference for a

hypnotist. I asked what it was about. He needed some help with an

issue, but wasn't very specific at first. During our conversation he

finally said, " Nobody understands me. " I asked if he would like me to

assist him with his issue, and he agreed.

I decided not to tell him anything about Byron or The Work -

that would come later. Instead, I dove right in with the four

questions, and it seemed so very natural. After about ten minutes with

lots of crying on his part as he brought up some very deep emotions he

had been suppressing, we got to the turnaround. I prompted him with

the first turnaround so he would get the idea. He worked with it,

found it suitable, and then came up with one of his own, and then

another. I added a couple more. At the end, he told me he had doubts

that I would be able to work with him at such a deep level. He told me

that the session worked for him and he thanked me profusely.

And all this was done over the phone.

The irony of this is, he was my personal coach back in 1994 when I was

recovering from a cancer operation. It was his guidance and teachings

that moved me from my attachments to guilt and despair to freedom and

health.

What goes around comes around.

I'm telling you this story so that you really get that if you know the

four questions (and the sub questions) well enough you can assist

others with their emotional problems, or beliefs that no longer work

for them, with great ease and comfort without going into detail about

The Work - no introduction needed. Once you have their permission,

just do it. If they should ever ask you how you came to know how to do

what you did, then you can refer them to Byron . Or maybe at the

end of the session you can just give them one of 's little booklets.
