Could it possibly be that your brain stem had so much tension on it, not enough to stretch it down far enough for them to spot the chiari, but tension, that when the cord was released the stem was sort of stretched out and not strong enough to hold it? I dont know, just taking a shot in the dark. I'm sorry for the Chiari but I am glad that you got the TC released, it has its own set of problems.
