Guest guest
I know I'm not the only one who's a bit thrown off by the new user interface on Yahoo Groups' web site. It *looks* somewhat cleaner, but looks aren't everything. First of all, they've set the default monospaced font, used for reading plain-text posts, to Courier New. *Courier New*... what an ugly font, in my opinion. I much prefer Andale Mono or Bitstream Vera Sans Mono. I ought to edit my userContent.css file for Firefox to enforce my font preferences at Yahoo Groups... But even beyond the font, there's one really irritating thing about the interface. It's built backwards from what would be logical. Reverse chronological order makes some degree of sense for a weblog, where posts are generally independent of one another, but for a mailing list where dialogue is the norm, chronological order makes more sense. Not only that, the posts are still numbered in chronological order, so the definitions of 'next post' and 'previous post' are the opposite of what would be logical! Seriously... did they get *anyone* to beta-test this design before rolling it out? I doubt it. -- Cody B. / " codeman38 " cody@... http://www.zone38.net/
