Guest guest
lol...Yea, I drank a lot! Plus, I never moved only to go to the bathroom. I would say I drank a 6-pack of dew a day. I never drank caffeine before that really...I would maybe have a glass of coke at a party but that was it. When my NS said to drink caffeine it would help with the headaches and keep the CSF going around and not leak out as much...that is what I did! lol Unfortunately, it didn't work the hole was to big and had surgery. But, now the little leak I have it more of a bother than anything. I can function throughout the day just can't bend over to pick things up without my pressure in my head. I've had this leak for 8 months...still waiting for it to heal on its own! - S. > > > Hi all, > > > > My son has started to experience bad headaches > that > > the dr says are due to a spinal fluid leak.? > When he > > sits upright or stands, the headache starts, but > > eases off when he lays back down.? Guest guest
I don't like Mountain Dew and can't imagine drinking six bottles of it a day. If you haven't used caffeine a lot, going from nothing to that much could cause all sorts of problems. Did you have heart palpitations? My last surgery was 10 years ago, and I still get this weird feeling when I lie on my back on a hard surface. My ears " fill up " , get this weird pressure in them, sounds fade. No pain, but it's very disconcerting. Hopefully your leak will heal completely. --- wrote: > lol...Yea, I drank a lot! Plus, I never moved only > to go to the bathroom. Guest guest
Speaking of ears, I never thought to ask until I just read your post but does anyone have trouble with their ears? I get what I call " eargraines " only in the right ear...very sharp stabbing pain. I have had docs look in there and there is no infection. It comes and goes...and I think I can predict the weather with it because it seems to have something to do with the barometric pressure. Probably just me, but I thought I would ask. I just aint right! I know I am missing some venous sinus in my head, extra sacral vertebrae, TC, short Rt. leg ...seems like there is something else I am missing but it must be my brain because I cant think of it, dang meds... > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > My son has started to experience bad headaches > > > that > > > > the dr says are due to a spinal fluid leak.? > > > When he > > > > sits upright or stands, the headache starts, but > > > > eases off when he lays back down.? Guest guest
- I get the same thing with my ears. Docs can't figure out what I am talking about they just say it has nothing to do with my surgery and/or the leak. I never had any problems with my ears before...ever! It's just weird. What did your docs say about your ears? I'm sure I had heart palpitations but it really didn't bother me at all. My blood pressure when I went into the internist was 198/130 Yikes!!! All the docs were flying throught the office, freaking out! Normally my b/p is 115/75. I told them I felt a little weird and kinda dizzy! - S. Guest guest
They didn't have a clue what it was, and even my very persistent neurologist couldn't figure it out. I just quit telling them. I've never had any issues with my ears or pressure in my head or anything like that before my surgery, so I'm pretty sure it's related. It's almost like the fluid builds up a pressure in my ears when I lie on my back. It's uncomfortable and makes me feel kind of like I'm blacking out without the visual symptoms. Very weird feeling, and nothing they can figure out. Gotta love the practice of medicine. My blood pressure doesn't go above 100/70. Usually it's 90/60, even on a decongestant, a stimulant, and all the coffee I drink. Were you seeing stars? Did you have any idea that your bp was so high? --- wrote: > - I get the same thing with my ears. Guest guest
Your ears sound just like mine...nobody can figure it out! Ugh! With the b/p...I thought it was my CSF leak that was causing me to feel weird and lightheaded. I walked into the docs office with pressure in my head (which was a " normal " feeling I had with the leak) sat on the table and was talking to them just fine. The nurses took my b/p and looked at me like they were freaking out. lol She left the room and brought in another nurse that nurse left and brought in the doc...as they kept asking me how I was feeling. To which, I said " a little dizzy, I'm just gonna lay down on the table and I will be fine " lol The doc called the cardio. and the cardio. said I had to come right over or go to the ER. People just kept looking at me strange and asking me how I felt. I just kept telling them that my head hurt because of my leak and I was up for to long. But, then as soon as I took the b/p meds...wow! my head felt much better! lol Only had to take the med for 2 months. - S. > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > My son has started to experience bad headaches > > > that > > > > the dr says are due to a spinal fluid leak.? > > > When he > > > > sits upright or stands, the headache starts, > but > > > > eases off when he lays back down.? Guest guest
does any one hear their heart beat in their ears?
