Texas Trauma Reporting System RAC Database Software Professional programming to develop computer software into a Texas Trauma Reporting System (TTRS) that performs the same functions as the computer system currently in use at the TDH Trauma Registry in Austin. The TTRS will receive trauma report information via telephone modem, in the standard TDH formats, from the emergency medical services and hospitals in the RAC’s area. The RAC’s new, in-house TTRS will be enhanced to include: 1) User security at logon. To control access to the Microsoft Windows NT file server, RAC personnel will maintain a data server, the TTRS will request input of a unique user identification and password. Any unauthorized users will be disconnected. 2) Verification of trauma report information. When the user transmits his trauma report file, the TTRS will check every record received for missing or invalid information. The user’s entire trauma report file will either be accepted or rejected while the user is still connected. The verification edits used are the same as those outlined in the TDH trauma report specifications for both emergency medical services and hospitals. Each user can select how they receive their acceptance/rejection report. The TTRS can display the report of acceptance or rejection on the user’s screen or download a file to his computer system for printing later. 3 Forwarding of the accumulated files from each emergency medical service and hospital to the TDH Trauma Registry. This process can be performed upon operator request or unattended at a predetermined time of day. the TTRS will store all the original trauma report files received from the emergency medical services and hospitals. These original files can be purged from the TTRS by operator selection, which includes date ranges. 4) Uploading of the files received into an open Microsoft Windows Access ‘97 database file structure. There will be one common database file with separate tables for emergency medical service and hospital information. The database file will be accessible by other ODBC compatible products such as dBase, FoxPro, Excel, etc. 5) Direct entry of trauma report information for emergency medical services only. RAC personnel, from a Windows ‘95/’98/NT workstation attached to the NT file server, will be able to handle the trauma reporting tasks for small emergency medical services that are without a computer system. 6) The TTRS will be guaranteed to be Y2K compliant. User instructions will be built into the software for operator use. The TTRS will be licensed to each buyer. An annual software subscription and upgrade plan will be available for $500./YR. Any additional programming will be offered by the software developer at the standard hourly rate of $62./HR. If requested/required, buyer will be charged a separate fee for software installation and setup including travel related expenses. The Texas Trauma Reporting System requires the following minimum configuration for the file server: INTEL Pentium II 266 MHz 12KB RAM 4GB SCSI disk drive ( GB recommended) Windows NT Server Windows Access ‘97 28.8K USRobotics Modem (56K recommended)
