Marie,

I have gotten SSD for years now. The slimit abd remember SSI and SSD are

two VERY different things with 2 VERY different set of rules. Yes, they

are from the same government, but are different. The the old saying, right

church different pew. The earnings cap for SSD just went up in july. You

can now earn up to 700 a month.

I know that, but have you personally had experience? The language is very

tricky, and it seems to me it says " under $200 is not coun ted " ; between 200

and 700 is counted and you may be looked at, and over $700 is counted as one of

your nine months, etc. I am wondering how safe it is to earn over 200 but less

than 700? Marie

Marie,

I know we have had this talk before and I have checked it out several

times. I even checked it with and It is okay to earn up to 500 a

month on SSD not SSI. Remeber they are 2 very very very different

programs. I have been doing this for years and have not had any problems.

In fact I was reviewed several years ago and told them I was working and

they wrote me back saying that since it was not in " gainful " employment I

still qualified. Ireally dont know what more to say. Talk to .

Okay Joanie, thanks. Guess I am putting the cart before the horse as usual as I

don't even have Disability yet. This sitting and waiting and not being able to

do anything drives me crazy! Pretty hard to get in touch with lately, but

I'm trying. Thanks. Marie

Today I had a job interview for a Rehab Counselor; it is for my employer,

state of Pa; I had just turned in my disability retirement papers, but

called the guy and asked him to hold them for a day or two; still have not

heard from SS as to a decision there. But volunteer work is not working

out, If I had SS and could work part time, then maybe I would be happy!

Can't make up my mind if I want to give up when I have gone this far

towards disability, particularly since I used all my sick time, and I don't

know when things will kick up again. But I would really like to be a rehab

counselor; you know, that sense of fulfilment type stuff. Not an easy

decision because you never know what NF2 is going to do! Marie
