Just being on the steroids or stopping them abruptly??

 

I know a few years ago when I was on them for something like 3 years straight I developed Cushings Syndrome, and will probably have the after effects of it for the rest of my life... ie: my lovely pudgy tummy... that I am trying to get rid of, but it is fighting back as hard as I am I think.

 

Basically steroids just SUCK!!

And I can't seem to get rid of my sinus/bronchitis crap this year. I am afraid to take the antibiotic samples my asthma doctor gave me due to it may be one more med that won't work and then I take it and works for 2 weeks and then all the junk comes back.

I turned in a culture Dec 18th and have as yet to get the results. I have to call them later about it and giving me directions if I do have to take those antibiotics.I am just more annoyed about the fact that the PA gave me another prescription for prednisone and since they didn't know what medicine to give me for my sinus/bronchitis infection. I took all the prednisone but now am back to coughing and it seems that no one wants to trust me into keeping some prednisone on hand just in case I need it, that will be another reason to call tomorrow.

Anyone know what can happen if you don't taper or if you take so much but don't take it every day, like skip a day or something like that?? they say it is dangereous and I don't know why??Thanks,
