Guest guest
National Jewish is a research and treatment facility in Denver, CO. They are rated number 1 in the world for respiratory issues. I have been to Mayo and all of the other big names and stumped them all. I have finally gotten some answers, but my lungs are still largely a mystery. In a huge catch 22 right now. I have to get much lower on the steroids for them to get a full look at the lungs as the steroids mask symptoms, but my lungs are dependent on the steroids. Every time I start to get lower I have a flare and end up getting bumped back up. So frustrating. Is it a hospital or a medical center like the Mayo Clinic? Just curious!! Good Luck with getting your answers, hopefully you will get the ones you are looking for!! Guest guest
I am glad to know that I am not the only one that has stumped Mayo Clinic. They basically told me the same things the University of Minnesota was telling me, so to me it wasn't worth the drive to go there. I am currently waiting on a new appointment at the U with a different doctor since my old one has moved to Pennsylvannia I think. I have kind of been in limbo with my allergies and asthma lately and just relying on my primary care & the ER to treat me because I am tired of hearing that it is all in my head, or it isn't possible to be allergic to so many things especially to the severity I claim I am allergic to them... Ya whatever! Before I got pregnant with Montanna, and when she was a baby I went to Allergy Associates of LaCrosse because they specialize in allergies and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity stuff, and that was working for the most part for me, but then gas got so expensive and it was so expensive to go down there that I just quit going, and now my doctor there is also retired... I mean really he only graduated from medical school with my Mom's cousin 55+ years ago by now, so ya... I guess he deserves to retire now. Good Luck, I hope you feel better!! I am waiting to hear about having a CT and possibly having to go on IV Vancomycin or Aztreonam for the sinus infection that seems to be taking up residence in my right maxillary sinus yet again! Love Always, Anne -- Madeline Madeline, are you still at National Jewish or are you back home?Alana>> Welcome Tee. I haven't been battling near as long as you have, but I fully understand your situation. I am very severe as well.  I only seem to be controllled with high doses of steroids, and lots of hospital time. I too am breaking in a new set of docs. Teaching the specialists a thing or two. LOL. I hope we can be some comfort for you.>  Madeline > http://health. groups..yahoo. com/group/ Lungs_on_ Vacation/
