Guest guest
Hi Lex -- Wishing you the best with your GK !! I've had 2 GK's and do prefer them.. (also 5 micro-surgeries) I wasn't able to save my hearing, but it was gone before the surgery. Most important thing is to guard against swelling - which can occur even 4 - 7 months after the GK. Keep in touch and let us know how you are. hugs, LynnBK Lex wrote: < Just a short note to say I'm due for Gamma Knife tomorrow on my first AN, right ear. It'll take place in Krefeld Germany. The Swedish doctor Karlsson will be in charge -reputedly the best GK specialist in Europe. Krefeld is less than a 2 hours drive from Maastricht my home place, so I expect to be back here tomorrow evening. I hope to save some hearing in that ear. But the effects of the treatment will take at least half a year. Preparing for the worst, aiming for the best. >>

Guest guest
I wish you the best, and hope you will keep us apprised of how your hearing survives; by the way, how large is the tumor? I thought they did fractionated more to preserve hearing?
