Guest guest
on your Hirschsprung's question... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! hahaa. Yes..potty training...what is that?? totally redefined it here. Do you know how much of Will's colon was removed? Only a few inches for ...but sheesh! He seemed to have NO sensation whatsoever of when he needed to have a BM. And I know many children have constipation still afterward...not ...never solid...so he had very frequent bm's. All of that, combined with the MDS.... was in pull ups until he was ELEVEN. He's now in regular underwear, but he has leakage every single day! I personally wouldn't push him if you try a lil while, and he's not having any success. Take a break. So often we have to pick and choose our battles, and that just may be one at this age that's not worth the fight. On top of everything else, you don't want him to become self conscious, or to feel any guilt about not being able to control himself. I'm on a yahoo HD egroup... often, I think most of them think I'm insane when I say he was 11...but most of them don't understand the MDS aspect of it...I think there are only 2 other people there who's kids have DS and HD. ~ANGEL~ Mom to 13, Mosaic Down Syndrome/Hirschsprung's Disease Lance 18, Tyler 14, 11 Jaeda 10 and Shayne
