Guest guest
I never cared for animals and when my boys were growing up we never had any pets. Son Rick bought a pup, after he was married and two weeks after he got her they went on holidays. Guess who was left to baby-sit an untrained puppy. No one could believe me, I fell in love. Even after they came home I had him bring her to our place every day as I couldn't stand the thought of her being alone. Dick and I worked alone together for seven years and our Misty came to work with us. I never have had a dog of my own and I really regret not having one for my boys, but now I have two granddogs. Misty has passed away and Dick and I were both heartbroken. It happened when Rick was on holidays and we had to leave work for the rest of the day. They now have another dog, Monty, and on the weekend we were at the lake and our was sick. Monty went into his room and slept under his bed all the time he was having his nap. I think they sense something is wrong because he has never done that before. After all this rambling I do believe a child needs a dog and things certainly would have been different if I had only realized earlier what a joy they are to have around both for children and adults. Guest guest
thanks Leona...you know we had Bib for over 16 years and before that I had a yorkie for 17 years. We always had a dog growing up and I miss it SO much...I still save some extra egg for Bib and head over to give it to her...of course she isn't there....I'm with you about children needing pets, we have two cats but they remind me of those cats in Lady and The Tramp...when they get together I swear they grow horns....one is sweet, the other one can only stand so much human affection and she moves on.... I won't bring a puppy into the house unless everybody wants it, so it's not looking good right now.... thanks for your thoughts.
