Guest guest
My favorite web site for finding good recipes has been redesigned, and can now be personalized wonderfully. Check out: http://www.mealsforyou.com/mfy/ See over there on the left? Preferences You can set it any way you wish, and it will remember your selections, for future reference. You can set it to select only low-carbohydrate foods, for example. It tells you ingredients, preparation time, nutritional info, etc. And the recipes are good! Guest guest
Thanks Susie...This looks like a very good site. *hugs* Toni Re: " Meals For You " > > > My favorite web site for finding good recipes has been redesigned, and can > now be personalized wonderfully. Guest guest
If you go to just http://www.mealsforyou.com, there is a banner in the upper right directing you to the new site, which has a URL of http://www.mealsforyou.com/mfy/ I am so pleased about all the recent changes, because I really pestered them ... and they were so decent about it. It is gorgeous the way you can set up the search parameters on this puppy now! I liked it before; I LOVE it now! I have been picturing myself in Rob's kitchen, smacking my hands together and going, " Ok ... we're fixin' dinner now ... " and not having a CLUE. And now - thanks to " Meals For You, " I already have a dandy " cookbook " made up of at least 100 menus. There are lots of good low-carb foods available online if you use a good search engine like http://www.altavista.com and type in " low carb* recipes " - in quotation marks, like that. (If you use the asterisk, it serves as a wild card. It will search for both carb and carbohydrate.) But many of those sites are really what I call At-kids sites .... people keeping their carb intake at the ketogenic level. I don't mind doing 100 grams a day. I have some super news to report. You remember my oldest sister ... the one who has never been diagnosed diabetic, and yet cannot lose weight, even starving herself; who has crappy cholesterol and triglycerides; who spills sugar in her urine; who gets headaches and shaky when she doesn't eat? Well, kiddies ... she finally adopted the low-carb WOL (way of life) ... she dropped 10 pounds the first week, then stalled while her body caught back up, but now is losing a pound a week! She is elated, and I am so happy for her. Group hugs, Susie
Guest guest
I checked out the site last night. Great one! If that's what works for your sister, good for her. It can be such a struggle. Glad she's doing better, Susie. Guest guest
I discovered something disappointing though. My printer is in the shop, so I didn't print out the recipes I selected ... just added them to my Favorites list. I returned to the site this morning and, naturally, all my Favorites were gone. I assume, since this is just a preview of the site, that soon we will sign in with a screen name and password, and that is how it will recall our favorites. So, for now, yesterday's work was wasted.
