I remember hearing once that Tums should not be used for Calcium

supplementation.

since it is supposed to lower acid, chronic use would cause the stomach to work

over time

to secrete acids. I also remember noting that the lack of Vitamin D was not the

issue

because Vitamin D does not need to be consumed at the same time as calcium for

them to

work synergistically...

I have already completed a medline search and came up empty handed.

Has anyone else heard that Tums should not be used for calcium supplementation

and

was there a source credited?

Thanks in advance
