RE: EHR federal money- best use- anyone qualify?

I'm at 26% Medicaid. If I were allowed to include folks I see without insurance ( we ask for $50/ visit), I'd be at about 35%. Amazing to me that uninsured don't count and amazing that I won't qualify for money when I'm committed to this service as my responsibility. I'm making it but just barely (80K take home last year seeing patients three days a week and still not full panel but close).

You have to agree to get to meaningful use otherwise they have no time for you...

Medicare has to have at least $15,000 I believe.

If any of us take 30% Medicaid, I can't see that you can survive independently.

From what I read, you WILL BE paid a lump

sum.Â The maximum incentive is 75% of allowable charges for the reporting

year.Â Hereâ€™s something from the FAQ:

Incentive

payments for the Medicare EHR Incentive Program will be made approximately four

to six weeks after an eligible professional (EP), eligible hospital, or

Critical Access Hospital (CAH) successfully attests that they have demonstrated

meaningful use of certified EHR technology. Payments to Medicare providers will

be made to the taxpayer identification number (TIN) selected at the time of

registration, through the same channels their claims payments are made. The

form of payment (electronic funds transfer or check) will be the same as claims

payments. While CMS expects that Medicare incentive payments will begin in May

2011, payments will be held for EPs until the EP meets the $24,000 threshold

in allowed charges.

So, if you donâ€™t meet the maximum

allowable of $24,000 in CY2011, you should expect to receive a check in about

April 2012 that is equivalent to 75% of your allowable charges for claims

submitted for CY2011 that were submitted prior to 2/29/12.

And letâ€™s all not forget that the rules

will change in 2013â€¦.with Stage 2.
