I totally agree. Things should be transparent. In Canada everyone gets paid the same for the same work. What is so difficult about that? Sometimes I think the policy of this country are not based on common sense but who has the most money and us solo people are not those w the most money. I have come to the conclusion that we need laws or a union to protect us. Anyone have any other ideas before we get eaten by those greedy folks who want a piece of what is really ours?  

 

AMEN to that Jean!Another rant here: I am at basketball practice tonight and start talking to another mom I did not know. Ends up she is a certified coder for one of the 3 large multispecialty groups that is taking over the Poughkeepsie, NY area near me. I expressed to her that I have had such a difficult time getting back any consult notes from specialists in her group. She actually had the audacity to say she thinks that is because they really rather the patients stay " in house " and they don't expect that they would have primaries outside of their nice new building with nice new CT/MRI scans, labs, etc! She then tells me how successful their administrator is at negotiating contracts, etc since they have so many doctors under their umbrella while I am getting $49 for a 99213 from one of the insurance companies.

Things have to change soon!Margaret
