Patient with DM, morbid obesit and arhtritis would like to use Curamine for his arthritis. Anyone know anything about this supplement? I don't know how to advise and it was not in my PDR of herbals and supplements. Thanks.

The "sales pitch" is pretty but I'm hoping to see what others have really experienced.

Is this going to be another "Vit E" is everything pitch?

Curcumin is the supplement, I know the local holistic doctor's recommend for pain, but can't site any studies to you. I'll see if they have any.

arthritis is a pretty broad brush.  Is it lupus, psoriatic, rheumatoid, crystal deposition, osteo?

never used that brand but have used curcumin with decent effectiveness in both OA and RA - never have seen a side effect in my practice but there is some cox-2 like activity so would need to pay attention to renal function and proteinuria though doubt would see any problems

You could ask your pt to eat tumeric w ground black pepper to improve absorption, take glucosamine/chon fro a USP or GMP certified company 1500 mg qd. They is also ASU (soponified avocado), Hyaluronic acid now comes w the glucosamine. How about acupuncture?
