Here are some software programs for filling out 1500's...allows you to save the patient's form so that the next time they come in - you just pull up the same form with the insurance info and update the date of service, codes, etc.

My EMR has a practice management option and I use that and my outsourced billing company logs in and manages the statements.

No - no need since I bill through my EMR/PM

 

Any preferences? 

Not tried any.

It's a basic list based on a google search.

I'm sure there are others out there that might work.

My EMR  (Altapoint )  also has a billing element but I pay someone to do the billing as I hate it.  Most of the claims are submitted directly,  but she has to fill out some manually, and she has trouble getting 1500's filled out , so I thought one of these software pkgs might help.  We use Office Ally so I have suggested she contact them to see if they have any suggestions about filling them out.  Maybe all we need is a software to fill in forms  ? (I already have Paperport and another similar....)

Ron, 1500’s are fairly basic to fill out.  Your biller can even hand-write them if your EMR won’t do it properly for you.  The 54-page instructions from CMS are very complete, but once you understand the basics of the form, it should be fairly straightforward for someone to complete for those few and far between that have to be done manually.
