Dear Jim in Jax and the Lyme and Rife yahoo group:

Recently, I was reading in a book entitled, Alternative Medicine: The

Definitive Guide, edited by Burton Goldberg (copyright 2002, published by

Celestial Arts). It is a reference book sort of. I was reading on Lupus and/or

auto-immune diseases in it. And, on page 1040 of this book it says that one with

Lupus should avoid L-tryptophan supplementation because it produces substances

in the body that may promote the autoimmune response. Well, I do not know if

that information is correct. So, I decided to do a search on autoimmune diseases

and L-tryptophan on www.mercola.com's search box. Dr. L. Blaylock, M.D.

(a Christian retired neurosurgeon) had an article that had some sort of

information about the connection (which I have not read the article yet) - the

article is quite lengthy. Anyway, after I was tested positive on both the ELISA

and then the Western Blot test for Lyme Disease, my county health services

required (I believe) my primary care physician to do two other tests - one for

syphyillus and the ANA test (for the family of autoimmune diseases of Lupus). I

tested negative (thankfully) for syphyillus, but positive for the ANA test.

Therefore, I have some sort of autoimmune disease.

I have had, in general, sleep deprivation for most of the time that I think

I have had Lyme Disease - 4 years. L-tryptophan has helped at times with the

sleep problems. So now I am concerned whether I should take the L-tryptophan or

not with having an auto-immune disease? Can anyone help me with this issue. I

need to make sure that whatever I do to help the sleep issues will be okay. Yes,

I do try to do the magnesium oil also, but I think the L-tryptophan has also

helped - but then is it really, overall?

Anyway, just asking.

Sincerely, in Christ Jesus,
