I know the feeling Rhonda. I have stopped talking about it. That's

why being able to come here is so important!

Yes those family members can be a waste of time and hurtful. Best to conserve

our energies for healing and breathing and supporting ourselves. JanE

Why do we have to mention 'mycotoxins' specifically I often think.

The only reason I ever do is because simply telling them about the high

spore counts, bulk sampling, tape lifts, etc. doesn't work so then I throw

in the mycotoxin info.

But that also seems to go in one ear and out the other.

Perhaps its best to just tell them what your symptoms are and that you're

trying to get medical care to address it but have not been successful.

I think that what is broken is the system that does this to us.

Recently Ive been trying to just spell it out in factual, step by step ways

but I am so inarticulate it isn't even funny when I am talking to doctors

now. I am sick and also so very sick of being sick and I want so much to get

better.

So I run into this brick wall myself though - not infrequently, and at this

point I'm desperate for care so I suppose I am a fine one to talk. But the

bottom line is that whatever we do it doesn't seem to work.

Another problem I have is trying to put a positive spin on my illnesses and

downplaying the symptoms when I should be blunter. But our society teaches

us to do that.

We need to all put our heads together and figure out some ways to approach

these PROBLEMS because they are big ones.

I only bring it up if I need to for my own benefit. I have to because

I have to conserve my energy and time right now. However if someone

else could benefit, I make the smallest of comments and see if person

may be open to accept idea that environment could be cause, and if so,

I say more, but if not, I stop there. I have enough to struggle with

myself. I have a friend who had breast cancer last year. She took

traditional treatment. I didn't know if she did any alternative

treatments (or living in healthy environment), so I asked her if she

looked into any alternative treatments. She said in very defiant

tone, " I have full confidence in my doctors. " (i.e. they know

everything, I do what they say and that is enough), so that was enough

for me! I have another friend who lives *right* on the Ohio River who

has cancer of her abdominal lining. I think she is too far along and

I have no idea if her condition could be related to her location. I

haven't seen her since high school, but if nothing else living

healthier could slow down progress. I have no idea what to say so

thought I would tell her that her environment can have a big impact on

her strength and mail her May's book on " My house is killing

me " , since I think it is a good starting point. I think one needs to

already be open to idea that house could be major contributor before

being able to wade through the more technical, Mold Warrior. I know

alot of people who have cancer or who have had it, much more than

during my parent's generation...no comparison!! I think it is due to

air pollution, inside/outside, whichever.

Your message really struck a chord with me--when you said that you

have become inarticulate. I have that same problem. I just couldn't

think of how to explain it. I have a lot of trouble getting my words

out and I don't always make sense. My family has noticed this too.

I don't like talking about it either but people are always telling me

to get off my dead ass, what am I supposed to say? " I'm too lazy

too " .

I just wish they wouldn't make their snide off-hand remark's without

having the fact's first. Being their are no facts that support their

hunch, they should try a novel concept and that would be NOT RUNNING

THEIR MOUTHS!

Keeping more to myself worked best for me. A little lonely but really

you don't owe anyone an explanation about the way you live after you

are an adult, unless person is your husband/wife, employers or someone

you are responsible for or they you.

Some people you talk to will believe you just because they have no

reason not to. Some people won't believe anything you say no matter

how reasonable. Only thing you can do is hang around people who

believe in you and make yourself scarce around the others. You don't

need to eliminate them especially if they are family. You just don't

explain your life. If they ask and have criticized before, change the

subject obviously. That's what politicians and *stars* do when they

want to keep their lives private. If they complain about the

aversion, oh well, they would have criticized the answer also.

Seeing my own post, I feel I need to clarify statement 'I only bring

it up if I need to for my own benefit'. I mean to doctors for my

health or to people I consult with for my house. I only bring it up

if I need to get things done is what I mean...just thought I'd clarify.
