Guest guest
Here are a few updates on some of the stuff we are doing with Kep. zinc: Apples are now a part of Kep's daily diet! He is also eating carrots occassionally and he ate fettucine alfredo for dinner! Whoa. I think it is helping. toothbrushing: Kep now brushes for 50 seconds straight. He not only brushes the entire time, but they have taught him to get back to all of the teeth on all of the sides! It is so cute to watch him. His favorite part is the swish-and-spit of course! behavior in general: He is doing incredibly well. He is more compliant, but now he is trying some very NT avoidance techniques. He cleans his room, but he'll do it as slowly as possible! Cracks me up. He has learned that Mama is no longer going to back down. She sticks to her guns, and so he does what he needs to. Language: We've been doing a language procedure where I hold back a toy and Kep has to use two words to get it. So, if I hold up a dog, he has to say " barking dog " or " brown dog " or whatever. As long as he uses two words, he gets the toy. He finally got the hang of it tonight. My favorite was " Owl, hat! " for a see and say I had. Other than that he mainly uses colors because those are easy for him. So, now, if he uses a color, he has to say three words! Ha. Just to piss him off I guess. So, he's doing great. Yippee for Kep. Guest guest
--Amy, Sounds like Kep is doing well, and you sound pleased. I like the procedure with the two words. There is one that I insisted that they do with at school, he has to say three sentences about an object- they can be short ones even. It sounds like a similar program. I think its great though. What is it about color though, will use color adj more readily than anything else too.
