I have had a very difficult time this past year because of my disappointments

with people that I thought I knew!! Even my husband took a huge chunk out of me

beginning the night before my last treatment shot for the HepC. He now knows

that he still has a lot of work before I'll feel like I can trust him again. In

the past couple of weeks, I've had to do a lot of soul searching and coming back

to rely on my best friend - my Higher Power.

Yesterday, my specialist phoned me from Vancouver to let me know that indeed, I

do have Liver Cancer. Even though I've known since last Oct that there was a

high probability, it was still hard to absorb the news. You know, it seems that

the average friend would be around very much, if a person had cancer. But, with

Hep C - it's kinda like - don't bug me (you don't look sick).

Therefore, those that I had to cut out of my life in 2009 are simply not welcome

back in now either. I've gone through way to much crap with my liver in this

last 8 years, to put up with self-centered people anymore. It's been a hard

lesson on my people pleasing defect and one that I'm trying very hard to learn

from.

I think that is very wise, Roni..thing is I thought they were close friends..how

is it the saying goes.. " a true friend is one that walks in when everyone else

walks out " . When I was helping take care of my life long best friend with

cancer, and our ordeal would really start getting to me, I had that wrote down

and on my desk, where I would see it many times a day. It helped me so much.

That is one big why his death effected me so much. Because he was my true

friend, also. I have one more like that, ouside of some of my family. He is a

long way off, but he is a true friend,..I feel fortunate to have had two in my

life!

Just shows you what kind of people they really are Dave. That's

awful. I'm sure alot of my so called friends would do the same. I

just tell my closest friends who support me 100%.
