Guest guest
Hello everyone,.. I told you that I would update you after the treatment on thursday,... Well I want to see my best friend with the furbabies , which is a little over an hour drive,.. So the pups were in their caddy and we were on the way,.. after over an hour drive ( around 1 pm ) I arrived at my best friends place ,.. loaded out the puppies , Macy the poor thing was carsick and I had given her medicine but the tablets did not work because she was fuming from her mouth and the bottom of the caddy was wet from her soliva (spelling) the poor thing , I got homeopatic drops for it in the mail yesterday so I hope that works better.... I did walk them both and then got to the flat ,.. and it seems when we came in that my best friend wasnt able to drive with her feet being so painfull of the polyneuropathy so her hubby would come along to the hospital because after treatment I wasnt allowed to drive home , because of the sedation and the cortizone that they would inject in my L4 ..control over the leg would be less then normal so that is why,.. So after a sandwich and something to drink and walking the doggies again , we got on our way at a few minutes after 3 pm .. at about 3.40pm we arrived at the hospital but treatment was planned to be a half hour later.. so we waited in the waitingroom , but it took so long and nothing happend , we sat there waiting and at some point I asked someone what was going on , it seemed that they delayed and she told me that I was the next one to be called in.. A few minutes later sure thing I was called in and told to get undressed and put on them funny footies and headcap over the hair and get the operation gown on... Then I was asked in the or .. i had to ly on my tummy and there was a pillow they put under my tummy for my lowerback needed to ly somewhat up for them to be best able to do their job... Well I was told to ly still ,not even move my head and dont talk .,.. because then I would move most likely... So a few seconds later the doc sayd , now the needle is going to be placed in/around the nerve in your spine.,.. I felt a nasty sting and the needle was placed , now they had to locate the rigt spot to testblock the nerve with cortizone and the stuff they use to get someone sleepy for an op ,.. After a little wiggle up and down and then some ,they seemed to have found the perfect spot ,. and before I knew it I was unhooked from the machine that watched my heartrate ,.. and I was done ,.. I had to get up real slow by turning on my right side and slowly get off the table , they did help me though .. slowly walk to the dressingroom and I was told to wait for the doc in the waitingroom... So I got dressed again , and a nurse gave me a paper where the info of the treatment was listed and a form I needed to fill in that was about overal treatment of personel in the hospital , anyway after I got dressed I walked (limped more ) to the waitingroom and about 10 minutes later the doc came to see me and asked if I felt any difference , I told him no , it is the same , and the limp was added ,.. I also told him that since wednesday I feel those electric shocks on the top of my foot , and on not the smallest toe but the two next to that and on the side of the foot , he made a note of that ,... and I was told to start with the Cymbalta ,..( I hadnt yet because of all the other problems after the colonscan) ... I have to get back on september 25th to talk to the doctor and I asked why I didnt really feel anything different and he told me because they injected cortizone it could take a day or 2 to 3 or somewhat longer for me to feel difference ,.. so I am keeping a close eye on that ,.. What I do know is that the pain in my leg is still horrible and my back is feeling darn painfull too , so I hope that will get better in the days to come... I will keep you posted if you want too.... liefs Annemie
