Guest guest
Mo, I'm new at this, but come clean with your doc or start seeing a new one. Your messing with your life here. I understand that it can be frustrating finding someone who understands but you have to keep looking. As Val said, when in doubt do labs. You could be doing irreprerable harm to your body. Just pick up the phone book and start calling docs and ask if they specialize in adrenal fatigue or thryoid problems. Tell them everything you've been doing. Yes they will be mad. That's their job. Doctors have to deal with a lot of their patients doing things that harm their health (drinking, cocaine, unprotected sex). Don't take it personally. If their bedside manner is that combative, move on to the next. Well, thats my two cents. Good luck, were pulling for ya! Thanks Val, let's hope I can get this without a Dr's referral. So it is easy with the saliva to work things out, easy at the usual blood one? There is not a lot of point in telling my GP really, she will just go ballastic and stress me even further every time I see her. I am in England and Armour is very rarely prescribed, if at all, by GPs. My GP tests show I do not have a thyroid problem so there is no way they would prescribe anything for thyroid so switching doctors would not be a help here really I don't think. Unless I am missing something here, in which case pse tell me as my head is not so clear. The other option is a private doctor and money is a problem for me as I have been unable to work for fifteen years so just scraping by. I am in a corner because I cannot get labs done privately without a GP referral. The GP would not refer even if I told her. She would tell me to stop the Armour as there is no thyroid issue as far as she is concerned. Tricky. I am looking into the urine test and hopefully I can get this done with self-referral. Phew! I have managed to find a private hospital that will take the bloods and it in the next county so will see if I can get a lift from anyone. The cost of this is only £13 to take the bloods and then NP Tech will do the thyroid panel for £28.00 so about half the price of the urine or saliva testing.
