Guest guest
Hi everyone, It seems like we have new people almost everyday! It has been a while since we have had updates on everyone, and I know I love to hear how everyone is doing. I'll start by introducing myself to the " new " people. My name is Luanne, married to Mark (25 years yesterday). We have 6 children. Dan is 23, married to . They have given us a beautiful granddaughter who is 1 1/2, their family is growing, a new baby will arrive in Feb. Unfortunately they live in CA and we live in WI, at least until next spring when they plan to move back " home " after spending 6 years in the Army. Our next son Steve is 22 and is a college student who has changed majors a few times now, and I haven't a clue what he plans to do next fall. A daughter Sandy follows, she is 20, a beautician, and is planning to be married this comming Nov. Alan is next, he graduated high school this past May, and is currently at Lackland Air Force Base at Tech School. We took a break and several years later we added on to our family. Ben is 11 and a really outgoing fun kid to have around. Mahrya is 9 and she is our child with MDS. She will be in 4th grade at the local school in our town. She has delays, and needs her sp ed teacher and an aid, but she is a delightful girl. She struggles mostly with math, but her reading is quite good (She has wonderful phonic skills, but not great comprehension of what she has read). I have been quite interested to read in other peoples posts about their children writing. Mahrya is rarely without a piece of paper and pen. She loves writing books. If people are looking for computer paper they have to track Mahrya down to get some as she tends to nab it from the printer and staple it together to make books. Sometimes she just has scribbles on the pages (I think to make the book longer) but she also writes real stories, mostly about girls named Mahrya who are princesses or fairies who can fly. This year we have a new sp ed teacher. We made an appt to get together with her before school starts so we can talk and make sure we are on the same page as far as Mahrya's education goes. She sounds real nice and we are looking forward to a good year. Where we live in WI mainstreaming is very much the rule and we have had to push to have her pulled for things like math where there is no way she could do what the other kids were. An e-mail to the DPI in our state really turned somes heads and our school is now being VERY accomodating. Anyway, we have had a great summer and are now starting to gear up for school to begin in Sept. I would love to hear how everyone else is doing!
