Guest guest
Jeanne There is a black ointment that you can put on it to make it draw out. I am sorry, I don't remember the name of it. You could ask your pharmacy. Also, you can tape a slice of potato to the area and that will draw it out too. My sister says that boils can be caused from a low immune system. Perhaps she needs some extra vitamins?? Kristy angels2757@... wrote: Hi Everyone, gets a boil in her groin area which is very painful and gets hard. We had a culture done but it didn't show anything. Just when I think it is going away if fills up again. Does anyone else's kids get this and if so what do you do or did a doctor suggest. Guest guest
Jeanne - My sister has been getting cysts on her neck area (around her ear) her whole life (she is now 30+) they are not in her groin area but it sounds like your boils. There is little they can do about them - she goes to see a dermatologist and he removes them when the get uncomfortable. She probably gets about 1 a year or less. Guest guest
Jeanne, My daughter, , has gotten them since she was about 12 yrs old. She is now 23. Her doctor gave her a perscription for PhisoHex, which is an antibacterial skin cleanser, about three years ago. When she stops using it, the boils come back. It has really helped. I wish we had known about it sooner. Mom to (23 yrs- MDS), Audry (25 yrs). and wife to Charlie (29 yrs) boils Hi Everyone, gets a boil in her groin area which is very painful and gets hard. Guest guest
Jeanne - Oh my, that has to be so painful for her. Some of the other ideas people have given you sound really good, (like the cleanser) - let us know how it works out. (If it works I might suggest it to my sister) Good Luck. Guest guest
Darlene, The doctor prescribed the cleanser, an ointment, and also a different antibiotic. He said if this doesn't clear it up then he might think about the hospital with and iv antibiotic. I do not want that. Let's hope the other stuff works.
