I would have to dig around...but I'm going by a shady memory... I haven't

liked Bill Maher in forever. On his HBO show, a few years ago...he made very

rude remarks....

I found it...wanted it to be accurate before i mentioned it...

But I've often said that if I had â€” I have two dogs â€” if I had two retarded

children, I'd be a hero. And yet the dogs, which are pretty much the same

thing. What? They're sweet. They're loving. They're kind, but they don't

Well, that kind of sums up his mentality doesn't it! I am calling him tomorrow

to tell him that MY son has an extra chromosome and he is quite intelligent!

Not a politician... Bill Maher is a television show host... has his own type

of talk show on HBO. I can't stomach it...but I know his old show was

called " politically incorrect " ...and he really is.

This man (and I use the term loosely) has always made me furious. The way he is

allow to continously insult our president (whether you are a Bush fan or not,

this makes our country look bad) and government across the airwaves is bad

enough, but now he is going to insult our children and the rest of the DS world.

Enough is enough. I will be calling the station. After reading the article at

the site you listed, I read the comments below that people sent in. We are not

the only ones offended by his remarks. Something needs to be done about him.

unaware of the other chromosomal abnormalities. Also, he was comparing this to

his intelligence, so it is very obvious that he meant Down syndrome. This is not

about politics what-so-ever! It is simply that we will not tolerate insults.

I suggest that we bombard HBO with calls Monday morning just as we did in Ohio.

Tell them that it is intolerable to make jokes about a person with Down syndrome

and that we expect a formal (on air) apology immediately or we will begin

calling advertisers.

I am not sure if you know it or not, but there is a video that you can watch

from that site to see the program where he said what he said. That way you can

totally understand what was said and how it was said. I think it helps more than

just reading what was said.
