Just in case people don’t

know, Activated Charcoal is AWESOME for stomach flu if they can keep it down

long enough for it to do its job.

It has stopped nausea and vomiting

(and diarrhea too) every time I have used it. You need to use at least 4 caps

for a child and 6-8 caps for an adult.

Its good to have around in

your medicine cabiniet.

Hi parents,

I suspect that my son came down with a stomach flu. He had his veg

soup for dinner and followed w/ supps as usual. He then went to our

bed and started to dance/jump. Before bed time, he took zinc and was

ready for bed. Though he wanted to eat muffin (made w/ almond

flour). So we gave them to him. Say around 3 am ish, he asked to go

poo and we took him. Instead of that, he vomitted. This is the third

time in the past 3-4 weeks ago due to his cold but this time seems to

last longer (a day). What came out last night was all veg + the

muffins (flour). He has been wanting to go poo but couldn't. And

often touched his belly and said hurt. As for this morning, we

decided to continue with his supps. We gave him probio before his

plain chix soup and followed w/ his vit c, mag buffer, clo, super

nu. Soon after this, he vomitted again. This time it was just

water. He then took a nap, got up and seemed to be better. We

decided to continue w/ the supps as usual and soup (plain chicken

broth). He vomitted again and didn't want to eat anything. He only

drinks water, not a lot. And he hasn't have his dinner/supps yet.

As far as his behavior, he is at his low engergy, calm, quiet. Since

he doesn't eat anything, I wonder if we still give him his supps?

Should I stop until he feels better again? And if you have any food

suggestions how to care for him since he isn't eating much.

My son is on a basic supps (calcium, vit c, magnesium buffer, clo,

super nu, zinc, dmg, enzyme complete, pro bio goal, Acid (probio) and

Klaire lab Factor 4 (probio)) until we receive his OAT, Urine, hair,

stools, GI results.

Sorry for a long post. And I also apologize if you receive the same

message again. I'm desperate for inputs, tips that you may have.

Many thanks.

Thanks. My son doesnt take zinc in am. He

has 2 tsp (he is 5.5 and 45lbs) before bed. Will it be ok to give zinc + cal,

vit c/mag buffer, super nu, clo all together after dinner? I understood it

can't be taken along with cal? Am I understand it correctly? We are new in this

biomed world and like to know. Thanks!

I know that zinc is best taken in the evening without food but many kids can

not tolerate it that way, it is hard on their tummies, I give my son's capsule

zinc with his dinner for this reason. I am not sure if that is the problem but

maybe you can try to give the zinc with some food. I also give my son a liquid

zinc twice a day with meals.

Hello!

I have the same problem with my daughter ( 2y.3mon.).

I

read in the book: Facing Autism byLynn m. Hamilton

(page 212-213) that

it can be symptom of Sensory Disorders. And therapy options- Sensory

Integration, AuditoryIntegration Training.

I am going to try it soon .If you also canbtry something or find another good

solution write me, please!

Hi Everyone, It's me again, I just got my son's stool analysis and my

doc said there's no yeast or any parasites from my son's stool.

My question is how come my son keeps on tip toeng, I thought it's

because of yeast..

Is there anything I should do?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks indeed.

Stool sample is helpful but NOT definitive.

You may want to try some of the non-prescriptive yeast treatments to see how

your daughter reacts.

From what I've learned on this board, I am going to try the Oxy-C and Amla, as

they seem to be exceptionally helpful.

why does it look

Becuase, I believe, that the food causes

hallucinations or visions of

a different dimension. Schizophrenics all have the same

hallucinations.. I believe they hang out in a different dimension,

and I think our kids go there too sometimes only at a lesser degree.

Call me nuts if you want.

Hi Marisa:

I recently joined this group and have been " shadowing " for a while.

When I saw your distance requirement of 8 hours " or so, " I thought I

would throw my hat into the ring. (I think we're about 7.5 hrs away from you!)

I am the biomedical consultant at Cady Wellness Institute in Newburgh, Indiana.

website: www.cadywellness. com

Dr. Cady and I have both been through the Defeat Autism Now Clinician's

training.

Prior to our training, we worked together from 2003-2005, along with our

Naturopath colleague, Dr. Whitney Gabhardt.

Dr. Cady is a classically trained psychiatrist who did his residency at the

Mayo Clinic. Thankfully though, he is not your " classic "

psychiatrist - MUCH more into functional medicine and holistic treatment of the

person.

When I joined the practice in 2003, Dr. Cady was already ordering food allergy

testing from ImmunoLabs, and Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analyses from Genova

(then Great Smokies), for our kiddos with ADHD.

My own daughter was dx'd with ADHD, combined type and OCD at six, later with

Asperger's and PANDAS, so the progression to biomedical treatment for

" autism " was a natural and necessary one for me. I am thrilled

to report she is currently off all meds, mainstreamed in ninth grade, a

fabulous drummer and artist, and all-around beautiful child (still somewhat

inattentive, but she comes by that honestly!)

I attended my first Defeat Autism Now! Conference in October 2005 and went

through the clinician's training in April 2007. Dr. Cady did the training

in July 2008.

We are currently accepting new patients in our practice, with a very short

wait-time.

If you would like to know more about our practice, please check the website, or

post any questions you may have.

I monitor my email daily.

Blessings to you.

Subject: DAN Dr?

We live in the Detroit

area, and are considering switching DAN docs. Can anyone strongly

recommend one that would be within driving distance of Detroit. We would be willing to travel 8

hrs or so if necessary. We need one that really understands gut

issues, yeast, viral, etc.

Any names people could provide would be appreciated.
