Sorry it sent too early. I was just going to say that I know you are tired. I am too! Hang in there.

Hi. Does anyone know if we can SAFELY use our Doug Coil machine on our kids--- ages 3, 7, & 8??? Our 7 year old was diagnosed with Mycoplasma Pneumonaie and just finished Zithromax for it. Our 3 year old son was also sick with it (BEFORE we knew what it was) and was also given Zithromax. Stupidly though, we only gave him 1 or 2 days of it and completely forgot to keep giving it to him when his main symptoms cleared. HOWEVER, one symptom stuck around and is now spreading--- the rash. AFter trawling the internet, I learned it is probably the Mycoplasma. My husband and I have both tested positive in the past for M. Pnemonaie and were put on long-term antibiotics for it. I am afraid 5 days of Zithromax may NOT completely get rid of it in the kids and would like to use our Doug Coil just to be sure. Also, our 2 boys (ages 3 & 8) have always suffered from very autistic-like rage episodes sometimes in the evenings--- they are fits of rage that are VERY difficult to handle, especially with our 8 year old son because he is big now and I have to physically hold him down for 30 minutes to an hour until it passes or he will destroy the room! Our kids are VERY well-behaved at school, and the 8 year old is on the A-honor roll and has been nominated for the Gifted/Talanted program, so these "brat" fits (as my hubby calls them) don't make ANY sense! Could it be lyme??? Or chronic Mycoplasma??? When they go into these fits--- they become trance-like, act possessed, and make repetetive noises that are descried in autistic children. But there are NO other signs of autism so I don't think that's it. These episodes have been happening MUCH more often over the past month (almost daily!) so i really wonder if there is a connection to the Mycoplasma Pnemonaie that is going around. It is wearing hubby and I out and almost tearing us apart because the kids' episodes end up setting off my husband's Lyme rage also--- so I am stuck having to diffuse ALL of them!!!!I'd really like to start using the Doug Coil on them to see if it would make any difference in their behavior. Thanks in advance for anyone's input!------------------------------------If your post is not about electronic devices used in the treatment of Lyme then please put an OT: in the subject line. -------------------------------

Hi ,

I just bought a Doug coil and asked my LLMD about it and she said she wasn't concerned. I have used it on them a couple of times, but still have my concerns. There haven't been any long-term studies, nor has anyone done any in-depth studies, even short term whether short, high-intensity magnetic bursts affect children's development that I'm aware of.

So, I still have my concerns. But, what is the alternative, electrical, or abx, or C/Salt, and perhaps a couple of other alternative treatments. But, even the abx hasn't had long-term studies on kids done. Which I KNOW I don't want my kids on, for up to 3 years!

So, I look at it as the lesser of the evils. I've never heard anyone being 'damaged' from high magnetic fields, although I have heard of some people becoming 'sensitive' to them.

HTH,

JimT
