Guest guest
Did you all read this article? Parents of children with special needs on the medicaid waiver programs and medicaid waiver waiting lists need to pay close attention to this because it will impact their children's and their future. If Texas pulls out of medicaid what will happen to the medicaid waiver programs. If you think they are insufficient and don't pay enough to get good services now, what will happen without federally matching funds, and what do you think the services will look like (or lack of services look like!) I think every single parent needs to be contacting their legislators and raising some serious questions, educating them on the needs of our children and how important these services are. These services need to be enhanced, not cut. Does this mean only institutions in Texas will survive, what are the reprecussions of this if it is being seriously considered. Please speak up, this is absolutely scary, we are now rated #49 among the states in providing services for children and adults with special needs, are we going to slide to -49?
