Guest guest
Dear , Whether or not I believe in my symptoms, or a particular disease, those symptoms may or may not still manifest in my body. But what I did experience is that it's possible to drop the story that my condition is bad or scary, so that there is no suffering. I didn't seem to mind what the energy in my body was doing, because I was in a state of total peace..... The fear I had was the rope that I confused with a snake. I was just reminding me here, also. Guest guest
YEs it is great.. its a rope 100% of the time.. Bob on and Wheeler are two authors who get this as well.. I havent read it yet but Bob ons book is called.. Whats wrong with right now, Unless you Think About it. Wheelers book is called. Awakening to the NAtural State. " Our true nature is that simple and undeniable presence of awareness .... " His website is thenaturalstate Basically he says you dont have to do anything or improve to be enlightened.. we already are. He also says believing our thoughts is the cause of our suffering. its always nice to be reminded when i am so stuck in believeing my thoughts.. love, roslyn > > Dear Roslyn, One more thought about your post. Guest guest
Dear Roslyn, It doesnt seem very helpful to say we don't have to do anything to get enlightened because we already are, even though it may be true. What I love about is that she teaches EXACTLY how to realize our enlightenment. She is the only teacher I am aware of who has ever done that. There are endless teachers of meditation, and who give spiritual discourses, who have started various religions, cults, and organizations. There have been so many great saints and masters, but they generally leave this all important step out for some reason. Without the specific understanding of how to undo the mechanism of mind-identification, self-realization is not likely to occur. Does Wheeler teach how to undo the ego in some way also? (I found the Wheeler website. it's got " org " at the end) Love > > > > Dear Roslyn, One more thought about your post. I love the fact that it > > is always a rope! Only 100% of the time. Guest guest
dear , Im glad you found it. I dont think he has a method exactly.. except to say look at who you really are. to quote from the book Awakening to the Natural State " PRactices , as i eventually learned , usually are interminable . This is because they are based on false premises. " .. basically what he says is What we are seeking is always avalilable NOW He quotes bob adamson who said the answer can never be found in the mind. I guess that is why katie says go to the heart and ask from that space.. which i dont do much. HES a bit different in that unlike so many spiritual teachers he does not say you need to do something to get somewhere. We are all already there and there is nothing to get to. HEs sort of like Tony PARsons only nicer. if you have ever read Tony. I think i read to avoid doing the work and i want to start doing the work but i did like john Wheelers take on things as it is sort of a new way of looking at things for me. Im so into self improvement its nice to think we dont need it after all.. still i will read his book in an effort to improve .. tehe.. you mentioned the ego.. he says it doesnt exist.. love, roslyn -- In Loving-what-is , " " wrote: > > Dear Roslyn, It doesnt seem very helpful to say we don't have to do > anything to get enlightened because we already are, even though it > may be true. Guest guest
Dear Rosyln, I do love the last thing that you said, That we don't need self-improvement after all! I have said that myself many times. That is why I am so turned off by the the self-improvement people, Tony Robbins for example. I am highly amused by a lady named Barbara Sher. She is not a spiritual guru at all, she teaches how to find and do what you really love in life. But she promises to do it with no noticeable self improvement at all!! She is very funny. She says it's ok if you want to lose weight or get in shape, etc, but not at all necessary to getting what you want. I shouldnt compare her, she is really more of a career counselor, but I loved that line of hers. I also like what says about practices being interminable. I have been practicing transcendtal meditation for 30 years, and that is my experience too. It's wonderful to meditate, but most of the people I know who do that practice, think they have some ultimate knowledge and don't need anything else. I had an awakening 20 years ago, like 's but temporary, and I realized that meditation had little to do with enlightenment, except as a catalyst. It creates fertile soil, but the individual must ultimately choose reality over illusions. The statement that what we are seeking is always available NOW is very Tollish! Who I love very much. does sound inspirational, buy I have Eckart for that. I saw him speak on video, and he has such a sweet presence. He is like an elf. The innocence of a child and the wisdom of a master. The spiritual world seems big on inspiration, but small on the how- to's. That's why blows me away so much. She is Christ to me. I was thinking last night how she metaphorically came in on a donkey, but being so mentally ill for so long. The ultimate in humility. She was the lowest of the low, and now has become our teacher, if we are willing to accept her. ONe more thing, you are right, the ego does not exist, except that we believe that it does, and so we suffer the results. Love > > > > > > > > Dear Roslyn, One more thought about your post.
