Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been a keen observer to this group, but this is the first time I have posted. My son is almost 4 years old, and we have been using biomedical treatments for about 6 months. He is GFCF, on LDN, digestive enzymes and taking various vitamin and mineral supplements. Our DAN! Dr recently started him on aciclovir 200mg three times a day, alternating with Valtrex 250mg twice a day every 2 weeks. So far, we have been using the anti virals for 1.5 months. He had high IgG levels to measles (ie at least 5 times the reference range), but so far, the anti virals don't seem to be doing anything. Question is, he always has swollen inguinal lymph glands (ie around the groin, in the crease between the abdomen and top of leg, on the front side). This is always worse when he has a cold/flu, but the lymph glands always seem to be raised and swollen. I think this means he has an immune response to something, but has anyone else had this with their ASD child? What did they do to bring down the swelling? Are we under dosing the antivirals? Am I expecting results too soon???!?!? Our DAN! Dr is reluctant to use the Vitamin A protocol due to a risk of liver toxicity... Any guidance would be appreciated. Guest guest
yes my son has had issues with this for a long time, LDN SHOULD be helping some with it. it means the body is in fight mode.....but with all this it shouldn't be. vit A when done right shouldn't hurt a kid. do you have him on any right now?? you could do the drops and do it slowly verses the big bulus doses Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 Lymph glands always swollen in groin and neck Hello everyone,I have been a keen observer to this group, but this is the first time I have posted. My son is almost 4 years old, and we have been using biomedical treatments for about 6 months. Guest guest
I don't have any guidance but my son's lymph nodes behind his ears and at the base of his skull stay swollen. I would love to know why(I think chronic infection) and what to do about it... Guest guest
My NT (highly allergic) son had this when we were trying sublingual drops to treat his allergies. Severely swollen lymph nodes all over the body - so much that we were afraid it could be lymphoma and took him to see an oncologist. It turned out that the allergy neutralizing drops were causing this. It does mean that the immune system is in a " fight " mode. You'll need to figure out what it is that your child's body is reacting so severely to and remove the offender.
Guest guest
My little guy had high IgG titers for HHV6, measles, and strep. We have been using Valtrex since Oct 3, 08 (3+ months). We started LDM-100 about 5 days ago. We started with 5 drops 3x / day then worked up to one dropper full 3 x / day (about 20-30 drops). We have noticed his lymph nodes on his neck just behind his ears are swollen. There is one that feels like about the size of a pea, and another one below it that is a bit smaller. --penumbra
Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your comments. Just a quick update - we took our ASD son to the pediatrician for a normal review today. She doesn't really approve of biomedical therapies, but was happy for us to continue to use any techniques that we think are helping. She checked his lymph nodes, and she says they are perfectly normal!! I wonder why I can't feel my own lymph glands!! She also did not understand the rationale for using valtrex if he has a high measles IgG titer. I don't really understand that either because I didn't think valtrex does anything to measles.... please correct me if I am wrong. We are waiting patiently for improvements anyway!! Guest guest
I thought the Vit A treatments for for measles and the valtrex was for herpes simplex virus that many of our kids have also. > > Thanks everyone for your comments. > > Just a quick update - we took our ASD son to the pediatrician for a normal review today. Guest guest
My little guy got a full body rash today. This is day 7 on LDM-100. We are giving one dropper full 3 x day. The rash started on his inner thigh, and then spread to all over his legs, and then to his torso. He also has " clown lips " I'll post pics shortly. http://www.autismpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=Will --penumbra > We have been using Valtrex since Oct 3, 08 (3+ months). Guest guest
Penumbra, It's best to lower your dosage for now. My son was not much more than 15-20 2x a day. Even as an adult I was told 25 drops 2x a day and had to cut back to 20 drops. We have a good powerpoint presentation from Dr. Amy on the Borrelia group files from her WA TACA presentation. She has quite a bit of info including " Clinical signs of viruses " , " Treating Viruses " , and more info on the LDM-100...here's just a bit of the info I thought you could use: " LDM-100 • Doses: - Start slow and build up - Kids: 3-4 drops 4-6 times daily (max I have seen is 1 tsp 3 times daily) • Cautions: - Slow down or even pause if rash occurs - Timing with school, since the rash looks scary and contagious - I don't find this to be a 1st line anti-viral (do vit A, monolaurin, EFA's or olive leaf 1st) - Start to get metals under control 1st - The rash is NOT and indicator of effectiveness " She has good info on Liver Support and has told us that Dandelion Root is good to use with it as Liver Support. My guess is to go down to like 8-10 drops 2x a day right now, give it a few days to a week for the toxin dump load to go down, then you can add 1 drop every day or 2 back in to build the dose back up...don't go over 28-20 drops 2x a day with our children's toxic load is more under control so you don't stress the body. Wishing you the best. Rita > > My little guy got a full body rash today. This is day 7 on LDM- 100. > We are giving one dropper full 3 x day. Guest guest
Hi Rita, Thanks for the suggestion. He woke up about 3 a.m., and the rash was much worse than when he went to sleep - it looks like a full-up case of the measles. I'm so happy to have this junk coming out of his body. --penumbra > > Penumbra, > It's best to lower your dosage for now. My son was not much more > than 15-20 2x a day.
