Guest guest
Hey LenaDid you mean Dr miller's holly tea? I am about to try this and just curious if Marc likes another tea now or just a typo:)Thanks Steelh c The harder you work the luckier you get! And In December, all things being equal, will try Dr. Bill's Holy tea, which sounds very interesting. Marc Fett over at Lymestrategies has spoken highly of that for really cleaning/healing the gut. It's always onward and upward around here. One small useful note: yesterday, eager make sure that no sensory nerve damage had occurred during my trigger-finger surgery on my thumb, (it was totally numb for many hours afterward,) I put some DMSO on the exposed part of the thumb and within FIVE seconds, feeling returned to that spot. It had helped clear the cells of the anesthetic that fast. Neat huh?Be well,Léna Hi Lena,I would like to hear how it works for you. I have always appreciated your comments on lyme issues and have learned a lot from you. Good luck!Steve"One person can make a difference." Hi Steve,Thanks for this input. I'm about to start essiac, so this is helpful.Be well,Léna Hi Jim, This Essiac Tea is powerful stuff. I can tell you that I've never had such a strong reaction after drinking a cup of herbal tea. I had both a herxing response and a detox response. I felt pretty good two or three days later. When I tried drinking a cup of this tea two days in a row, it was too much. My herxing and/or detox reaction was too great. I'm thinking of experimenting with it every three or four days to see how it goes. There is something to it. I'm sure everyone's response will be different. I've had lyme for over 16 years so I still have a high bacterial load. Steve "One person can make a difference." Guest guest
Lena,It was the 4 herb liquid that I used too. I agree that it is good to have only one new thing going at a time. DMSO is amazing. I first used DMSO 30 years ago as a runner. I would a dab a bit on my sore foot and almost instantaneously I could taste it in my mouth. It works well for runners sore muscles...if only I could run again...Steve"One person can make a difference." Guest guest
Hi Steve,So, you are a tea sipper now, eh!! :-)Yes, I too had a herx effect from this, I was telling Marie off group about this and she actually questioned me about this.. Somewhere I read the tea will kill bacteria and either fungus or virus, plus all the detoxing it does...Are you using according to what is on the label? The tea we make from herbs calls for using 1 oz of liquid tea to 2 oz of hot water, this is done once daily.. Ideally you would want to take this daily if you can.. Even if you take say 1/2 oz of tea in the beginning.. I also use a toxin binder like Glucomannan or Azomite (any toxin binder will do) as I want to be sure the toxins leave the body.. The one thing you need to watch is taking too much of the tea, I found for me there was a limit and more actually made my fatigue worse..The real benefits come when you see some symptoms getting better.. I was pretty surprised in the first week to see this. I've been off the tea for a weak and I feel worse.. I just started back on it tonight.. Hope you like the taste, I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good as I don't usually like herbal teas!! I feel a lot of usare going to benefit from this tea... Guest guest
Hi Jim,Yes, I am a tea sipper now and I do like the taste. I can tell you that it is a lot tastier than straight Yerba Mate tea!The Essiac Tea I am using is the 4 herbs in liquid form and I did follow the instructions on the bottle. I am very sensitive to supplements in general so that may be part of my problem.I plan to continue experimenting with dosage and intervals in between. I felt like after the first time I used it and the herx was over, my body seemed more in balance. I liked that a lot. This is why I continue to be a lurker on this Lyme_and_Rife site. I learned about Doug Coils on this site and bought one. I've been using it for a year and feel like it is reducing my bacteria load. I've only built up to about 3 minutes from my first treatment of 15 seconds - slow but sure - pace not race. I've learned a lot about patience. I can only get away with coiling once every two weeks or I herx too much. Detox supplements are key after I coil. So this new find of Essiac Tea is exciting.I've learned more from the members of this group than any doctor I've seen; however I still see my LLND on a regular basis. She is supportive of my Doug Coiling. Thanks for all your efforts as moderator.Steve"One person can make a difference." Guest guest
Hi Troy,It sounds like you're leaving no stone unturned, which is a good approach to Lyme. My two main protocols are Rife and Salt & C and they have taken me far, back to almost normal life after 45 years of Lyme & Co. From that experience, my only suggestion would be for you to check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategies/Salt and C is a very effective and inexpensive way to make your pathogens miserable and your body a hostile place for them to persist, while you're doing other things to kill and detox them. Yes, detox is most important! This protocol is compatible with many other alternative protocols, (although there are some rules about separating C from some remedies by a couple hours.)Be well,Léna HI my name is Troy I bought a rife machine it seems to be a good one and have been using frequency 432 for lyme I cant really tell if hurt is a herx because it is constant it does not get worse after I use the machine i have even tried the welchol and charcoal to try to help with the pain but this it does not help. Guest guest
Lena, that is great news! How long have you been actively treating? I'm 36 and my suspicions are that I was either born with it, or infected around 2 years of age, just didn't know what was ailing me. Glad to see someone with a long history beat the illness down and be living a normal lifestyle. Guest guest
Hi Jodie, Bitten 1961- bull's eye rash on back of neck, years of disconnected symptoms and negative tests, I was finally diagnosed and began treating Lyme in 2006: primarily Rife the first year, the second adding S & C. Into the third year, I finally got wise about really detoxing, and fine-tuning with supplements. That made a great difference. Now I'm at the rebuilding stage. Small set-backs occasionally, just to remind me how it used to be and make me grateful and careful, but more and more energy, engagement in normal activities and travel, and optimism about my future life. This fight can be won. I'm not sure about absolute cure, but if this is as good as it gets, with the maintenance I'm doing now, I feel very blessed. Be well,Léna Lena, that is great news! Guest guest
Could it be fungus ? if so a past made of bicarboante of sodium iodine on the skin and water will make it decrease soem water of course eventually a little bti of coocunt oil . If it heleps a littl ebit measne it may be fungus as fungus dyes in contact with alcaline envoironement . Guest guest
Hi Steve,Yes, I do recall you are sensitive to supps... Hopefully not the Essiac tea and maybe this will even change your sensitivity since it will get a lot of junk out of the body over time... I believe Nurse Caisse says it takes a full year to detox using her single dose, once daily.. So this is a very gentle detoxer. When I started rifing, I did so every 10 days and I stuck with that plan.. It worked well for me.. I think over time I probably could have rifed more often, but I stayed with the plan.. And patience really does pay off, you avoid tough herxes which really only make your more toxic.. And many don't realize, it takes time for the body to recoup from a lot of toxins.. I know, I was there a few times.. I've seen some end up in the hospital because they became so toxic.. Balance is the key to getting better from Lyme. I agree! Together we all have a good deal of knowledge! And even new folks come with their own good knowledge to share with everyone.. Each time I would mention something to my family doc that I learned from the group, he was pretty clueless.. He was a good doctor, but really was clueless about Lyme. I used to feel I knew just about everything about Lyme yet I still lean new things ever time I show up here!! :-) Enjoy the tea!Jim Re: OT: Essiac Tea Message List Reply | Delete Message #28590 of 28625 < Prev | Next > Re: RE: OT: Essiac Tea Hi Jim, Yes, I am a tea sipper now and I do like the taste. I can tell you that it is a lot tastier than straight Yerba Mate tea!The Essiac Tea I am using is the 4 herbs in liquid form and I did follow the instructions on the bottle. I am very sensitive to supplements in general so that may be part of my problem. I plan to continue experimenting with dosage and intervals in between. So this new find of Essiac Tea is exciting. I've learned more from the members of this group than any doctor I've seen; however I still see my LLND on a regular basis. She is supportive of my Doug Coiling. Thanks for all your efforts as moderator. Steve " One person can make a difference. " Hi Steve,So, you are a tea sipper now, eh!! The one thing you need to watch is taking too much of the tea, I found for me there was a limit and more actually made my fatigue worse.. The real benefits come when you see some symptoms getting better.. I was pretty surprised in the first week to see this. I've been off the tea for a weak and I feel worse.. I just started back on it tonight.. Hope you like the taste, I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good as I don't usually like herbal teas!! I feel a lot of us are going to benefit from this tea... Enjoy!Jim OT: Essiac Tea Message List Reply | Delete Message #28569 of 28584 < Prev | Next > Hi Jim,This Essiac Tea is powerful stuff. I can tell you that I've never had such a strong reaction after drinking a cup of herbal tea. I had both a herxingresponse and a detox response. I felt pretty good two or three days later. When I tried drinking a cup of this tea two days in a row, it was too much. My herxing and/or detox reaction was too great. I'm thinking of experimenting withit every three or four days to see how it goes. There is something to it. I'msure everyone's response will be different. I've had lyme for over 16 years so I still have a high bacterial load.Steve " One person can make a difference. "

Guest guest
I too brewed my first batch which I bought from Mountain Rose Herbs 1 lb package premixed ($29 per pound). The instructions that came with it said to boil for 10 minutes, then sit on low heat overnight, then reheat until steaming, let cool, strain through fine mesh strainer (that would remove bits and pieces), and refrigerate. 32 oz. boiled down to about 16 oz. Shake and pour 1 oz. and add 2 oz. hot water. It says to drink at bedtime on an empty stomach (no food one hour before or after). Jim, is this what you are doing? deb > > > > > > Hello Jim , > > > We had oru first cup of essiac tea today . it is pretty good ! > > > Thank you Jim for everything, > > > Kindly Marie > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Damarise, Great you liked the tea! Now just think of how healthy it is! You should strain the tea before putting it in the fridge... The solids from straining I just give to my dogs, it is excellent for them.. If you don't have dogs to give the solids to, do you have a " compost' pile? That would be another good use for them... Otherwise, just throw them away.. There may be some small solids left in the bottom of the cup of tea, these I drink... Guest guest
I finally got some Essiac and started trying it. By the second cup I was having a low-grade headache and it felt like a herx. Anyone else get a herx from essiac? Seems I get one from any kind of detox herb (milk thistle, dandelion etc). This is a worry for me. I am going to get tested for pyrroluria, but any other suggestions are welcome, too. " The weather is here, wish you were lovely. Guest guest
Hi Robin, From what I read on this forum re Essiac Tea, is that it WILL cause a herx. I imagine that as a tea that causes a herx, it either has to kill or stimulate the body to release and hence the reason for the toxins. Do you do any binders or charcoal, as this might be a good adjunct an hour or so later after drinking the tea.......just a thought. God bless, Joe I finally got some Essiac and started trying it. Guest guest
Hi Marie, Please be careful with Essiac tea.... It is not really supposed to give you are herx, but it may if you have a high enough pathogen load... This tea is basically a good detoxer, which you want it to do and not too much detoxing at once... Nurse Caisse suggests a single dose, once daily.. If you take more, just watch to be sure your body can handle the higher toxin load... If you do decide to take more, this should be done over time.. If you will recall I kept increasing the dose until I finally became pretty toxic from moving too many toxins too quickly... If you reach this point, stop the tea immediately for one week, then resume with a single dose, once daily... Always drink lots of filtered or distilled water, it helps get the toxins out of the body... Take care, Jim > > > > Hello Jim , > > We had oru first cup of essiac tea today . it is pretty good ! > > Thank you Jim for everything, > > Kindly Marie > > >
Guest guest
Hi Damarise and Jim,Our RV refrigerator is smaller, and presently stuffed with things from home i couldn't bear to just throw out, so there's no room yet for a container of Essiac concentrate. Also, I'll only be able to make a half-gallon at a time. My question is:Though I can brew the Essiac herb mix on the stove for a while, I'm nervous about leaving it on low gas heat overnight because the RV is a very confined space for an open flame (burning up oxygen) Would putting it piping hot into a big thermos overnight do the trick?Be well,Léna HiI didn t get any head aces from the tea,but i do suffer from chronic headaces anyway. but the tea really made me feel much better, i drink just an oz a day with hot water added to the oz of concentrate and i take it in the morning without any food at all. i wait one hour or more before eating anything, and i think you have to drink it slowly, sipping it. i find the tea very light but i feel so great so far. Maybe your headace is a hex reaction, as the tea is a detox so it is possible. i take lithium orate before doing any detox, it protects your brain. maybe you can try that...DamariseTo: Lyme_and_Rife From: joes1@...Date: Sat, 26 Nov 2011 15:47:54 -0500Subject: Re: Re: OT: Essiac tea Hi Robin, From what I read on this forum re Essiac Tea, is that it WILL cause a herx.
