Guest guest
: Interpretation will depend upon the lab used. The lab should mark any out-of-range results, and will also tell what the normal ranges are. This is because labs use different tests, thus the normal ranges differ per test/lab. NK cells are what is needed to kill intracellular pathogens, and note that those with autism have too many intracellular pathogens. If you google, you will find that it is common for those with autism and lyme to have abnormal NK cells, or more specifically, CD 57 t-cells. This is why some docs feel that lyme is the main thing disabling their immune systems, allowing all the other pathogens and toxins to stock-pile. Turmeric, Samento, chelation, and other things are reportedly able to boost NK cells. Of course, ridding infections in general, should help towards freeing up the NK cells. It is thought that they burn out due to too much stress from pleomorphic bacteria, like lyme, and also mercury lowers NK cells. Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Thanks so much for your detailed reply! We are currently treating Lyme and Erlichia. I had the NK count run because many on my Lyme board say that theirs are abnormally low. We ran through Quest, range is 6--540 for absolute NK cells. His is 257. So I think that is OK. Nothing on the three markers were flagged out of range. I believe that Lyme is a huge piece in his recovery. We have lowered our metals, but still have more work to do there. Plan to re-start chelation in 2 weeks after getting the OK from our Lyme doc. He has also been on LDN for 7 months which helps with immune modulation and NK cells also. Also have anti viral and antifungal on board right now as well (have already kicked HHV6) . We have seen a LOT of improvement since starting Lyme treatment 2 months ago. Thanks again! julia > > : > Interpretation will depend upon the lab used. The lab should mark any > out-of-range results, and will also tell what the normal ranges are. Guest guest
This is the very statement that leads me to believe lyme is the main cause of autism. Of all the treatments on the forums that I see people post about, lyme treatment is the number one thing I see people say causes improvements. I finally believed those posts and started my family on lyme treatments. I agree that lyme and lyme coinfection treatment is the number one treatment improving my family. Detoxing helps as well. Thus, it's definitely a combination. I can not vouch for Quest labs because most of the literature on the Internet is from LabCorp, but when normal CD 57's are obtained, it is suspected that a lyme coinfection is to blame for most of the symptoms. I have read that if your child has OCD or has to have things a certain way, speech issues, anxiety, etc., look at Bartonella. If your child is excessively thirsty, nightmares, fatigue, look at Babesia. But, there are more coinfections as well, these appear to be very common. But if you are seeing improvements, than for now keep doing whatever you are doing. If it works, stay with it. Guest guest
Klinghardt also seems to believe that all cavities are caused by bartonella. I hadn't heard that before watching his dvd from his 2008 conference. > > > Subject: Re:NK cell count-Can anyone interpret? > To: mb12 valtrex > Date: Sunday, January 11, 2009, 9:34 AM > > > > > > > > This is the very statement that leads me to believe lyme is the main cause of autism.
