Guest guest
I just started taking 1/4 teaspoon in the morning. How do you know how much to take? Guest guest
I take it by taste. As long as it is tasting good and you don't go YUCK every time you drink it, it is not too much. I also get horrid muscle cramps if I am not taking enough. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

SAMMIE " Sammie, You need Natural Salt. Iodized Sea Salt has been processed and bleached (blech). Natural Salt contains other minerals besides sodium. Guest guest
Hey Carolyn, I can't back this up with scientific research, but since I started using the sea salt (on my food and cooking with it)(And I think I use more than I did of the regular stuff) my sodium level dropped from teetering at the top edge, to low middle... Again, I can't say I did a thorough scientific study.... but... good luck ----------------------------------------------------------------- > I don't use any salt because my sodium count is so high. Guest guest
Hi, when I first started to try the salt I did not understand that there is a HUGE difference between Celtic sea salt and refined so called sea salt. I almost gave up it tasted so gross and gave me a headache. But after trying Celtic sea salt in water and using enough to taste good(for me using too little in too much water made me gag) I have to say that I really like the sea salt water. I do not like it in juice or anything else. If your salt is white it is not Celtic salt it is refined!! Please try some good Celtic salt and try varying the amount of water you use and just make it to taste. I think you will like it. Or maybe you would like yours in OJ? I use about a tablespoon a day but I know that is more than most people here. Anne in NH
Guest guest
Lynn, Thank you for responding. My Potassium is 220 and my Magnesium is 160. Na/K is 4.55 (reference range is ..5 - 10)and my Na/MG ( think that would be sodium/Magnesium or 1000/160 or 6.25. I don't know what that reference range should be). Any insight you have into this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Carolyn J
Guest guest
> mine was from a hair analysis - it was 1000 with a reference range of 24-180! > carolynj Carolyn, Mercury toxicity can affect sodium results on hair analysis, as can imbalances in other minerals. See http://www.drlwilson.com/Articles/Adrenal%20192.htm. It's also important to know what your sodium reading is in relationship to potassium and to magnesium. What are your Na/K and Na/Mg ratios compared to the normal ranges for those ratios? You may have sodium wasting. High sodium levels in the hair do not mean you have high sodium levels in your blood, and it doesn't necessarily mean that you wouldn't benefit from additional sea salt. DDI washes their hair samples and the water-soluble minerals, sodium and potassium, are unpredictably removed. They do caution that the sodium and potassium values can be erratic and the values are unreliable. So it's hard to know how significant your results are. Your potassium is sky-high along with your sodium, so your NaK ratio looks mid-range, which is good. If anything, you might be in the second stage of adrenal trouble, just before adrenal exhaustion, because potassium and sodium both jump up as the adrenals make a last ditch effort to try and meet the body's needs. I suspect that celtic sea salt would only help you. Lynn

Guest guest
I have a high sodium reading in blood tests. It has been creeping up over the year and is now just below the top reference range. I have severe adrenal fatigue, and take a replacement dose of pred and HC every day. Because of my sodium reading I have been holding off taking sea salt, but have found it helpful recently in the hot weather.
