HiI started drinking milk thistle tea and also putting in a few drops of extract. Just one cup a day, but I'm getting headaches again, the kind nothing touches. Anyone have an experience like this from milk thistle? Is this a herx or am I allergic to it? Or perhaps is my liver distressed?

It worries me just a little. Unless it's a herx, then OK.Any thoughts out there? The weather is here, wish you were lovely,LoveRobin Little

Hi Robin,

It is a possiblility that you have developed an allergy to Milk Thistle. If you

know anyone that muscle tests or if you do any self testing, you could test your

milk thistle to see if you are allergic. One of the easiest ways I know is to

put the milk thistle capsule in your left hand and run your hand down the front

of your body in front of your forehead/third eye chakra, down past your

throat/throat chakra, down past your solar plexus and all the way down to your

base chakra, below the naval. Continue to hold the capsule in your left hand

and hold the left hand over your thymus gland between the solar plexus and the

throat. Close your eyes and ask your body is this Milk Thistle in the highest

and best interest of my body. If your body rocks forward that is a yes. If you

rock backwards that is a no. I would then do the same thing asking the question

does my body have a sensitivity or allergy to what is in my left hand. The

reason you want to ask the second question is that though Milk Thistle may be

good for your body, it does not necessarily mean you aren't reacting

allergically to it. Again see if you fall forward or backward. This is the

easiest form of self muscle testing that I know of. It doesn't take a lot of

practice to master this technique. Of course I find the pendulum the easiest

way for me to determine allergies, but there is a bit more of a learning curve

with it.

The other issue is that as a Lymie, especially if you are currently coiling or

aggressively treating this disease, your liver tends to detox out a lot of

Ammonia due to the die off from the spirochetes. Any time you kill proteins

such as parasites, Ammonia is a neuro toxin left behind. If you are having bad

headaches. I would try taking some Molydenum which helps detox the ammonia out

of the brain. I would also take a lot of Chlorella and clay a half hour or so

before taking your Silymarin capsule as the toxins will then be mopped up by the

chlorella and clay which avoids having it reabsorb back into your blood stream

via a leaky gut which many Lymies also have. You might just need to back down

on the silymarin for awhile and see if it helps. I have also found that Yucca

is a good binder of ammonia and so is charcoal. Get your binders in place

before taking the milk thistle and see if you have a noticeable improvement in

the headache symptoms.

You can be allergic to anything, so it could be an allergy. But milk thistle is

supposed to support the liver--perhaps it is a detox reaction. I think it

wouldn't hurt to take a break until you feel better, than re-introduce at half

the dose or so.

Perhaps we'll have an " Indian Summer " before too long. : )

Hey, sounds like liver detox to me. You may want to bring your intake down a nudge and build up. Do drink plenty of water and replenish in electrolytes.Be blessed, BConnected by DROID on Verizon Wireless Re: OT: herx from milk thistle? You can be allergic to anything, so it could be an allergy.
