Guest guest
Member,Herxes are evidence of a good thing: that pathogens have been killed, but their dead are now toxins which can cause all sorts of symptoms and challenge the detox organs. This is why one needs to strike a balance between killing and detox, as intense herxes aren't something we go for. Mild ones are best: gentle indicators that we're on the right track without incapacitating us. Slow and steady wins this race. If a herx is intense, ramp up detox and back off killing for a bit. Be well, member called Léna Dear Lyme and Rife yahoo group: I had listened earlier this evening to a free webinar on Candida over-growth and cleansing. One of the speakers on this webinar mentioned about herxheimer reactions with trying to clear candida overgrowth. The person said something like that a herxheimer reaction was actually a reaction that poisons oneself. So, my impression prior to her saying this was that a herxheimer reaction was actually a good thing...that whatever protocol is working. However, according to what she was saying, it sounded like she was saying this was not a good thing. So, I would like to hear what others might say about this concept she was commmunicating...is a herxheimer reaction at all (with Lyme Disease or anything else) actually okay (or even a good thing) if in moderation or is it not good at all? Guest guest
Herx reactions, if overwhelming, are not a good thing. They cause inflammation which can damage tissues. Herxes should be managed and the treatment(s) that caused them should be cut back if the die-off is difficult. I had die-off from candida treatment and in my case, it led to suicidal thoughts. This was due to a prescription med (diflucan) and when I stopped taking it, the depression/suicidal thoughts went away. So die-off can lead to chemical changes in the brain which affect mood, etc. deb > > Dear Lyme and Rife yahoo group: > I had listened earlier this evening to a free webinar on Candida over-growth and cleansing. Guest guest
Just wanted to clarify, only the cholestyramine-light uses aspartame, not the regular. The regular cholestyramine uses sucrose. I use the cholestyramine, but I would NEVER use it if it had aspartame in it. We have enough poisons to deal with without purposely putting more there. I use it from time-to-time, and it does help reduce the Herx. Activated charcoal though tends to work MUCH better, but doesn't last quite as long as cholestyramine.
