Guest guest
Hello Everyone - I just got out of a meeting with 's kindergarten teacher and learning support teacher for next year. They just told me how wonderful is (which I already knew - but it is so nice to hear from someone else), how each day she is happy to go to school, so cheerful and pleasant. Her speech is improving, her kindergarten and learning support teacher even heard a full sentance from (but they don't remember what she said unfortunately). Her kindergarten teacher said if 's first grade teacher wanted to talk to her she would be happy to do so. She said she has never seen a reward system work so well - loves to get the stamps saying she is doing good work and on time. She gave me a list of things to do with her over the summer so that doesn't lose the strides she has made this year. She said knows her Alphabet (lower and upper) but to just keep going over it once a week so she doesn't lose it. Go over her patterning, and math concepts since they will be doing a lot of that in first grade. And continue to work on the sight words - has 13 down - she needs to have 40 but we are working on it slowly. will shut down if you keep drilling the same stuff over and over. She has a wonderful ability to tune out everything around her and go into her own world. Which she comes by naturally (from mom). I am so proud of her and I just wanted to share with everyone. My big first grader in 10 days! Darlene - Mom to (9) and (7)
