Guest guest
Hidy y'all, For those who may not have had the privilege of knowing Jim Arnold as I have, I'd like to let you know why I'm thrilled that he has been appointed Assistant Bureau Chief for EMS. I have known Jim since he came to this region and have worked with him for the last 13 years as a coordinator. He has served on our Advisory Committee at Tyler Junior College since I came here in 1989 and has helped our program and all the programs in this region in countless ways. He is an advocate of excellence and has taught us much. Jim has comprehensive knowledge and understanding of EMS at all levels. He's been there, done it, got the T-Shirt and the Mug. As an administrator, I can only say that his replacement better have size 22's. Jim possesses the unique quality of being able to listen. He always sees the big picture and tries to see how things can be made to work rather than why they cannot work. He's a positive force rather than a negative force. He promotes consensus and agreement. He is one of the fairest people I have ever known. And he's got something called common sense that seems to elude so many today. Texas is indeed fortunate to have Jim Arnold as its EMS Chief, and I ask you all to help and support him in his new job. Gene Gandy E.
