Hi Jim,My local healthfood store had Caisse's liquid essiac, so, in the interest of time, I got it.How much would you suggest i start with? the bottle said 2oz warm water and 2 oz of the liquid. Should I start more conservatively (you know, the old Lymie ramp up?)Be well,Léna Jim, Thanks for this recipe, I will be ordering it for Chris. I also wanted to include this link which discusses who should not use essiac tea and who should proceed with caution. Please excuse me if you have already posted this. http://www.cancertutor.com/Cancer/Essiac_Warnings.html

Hi Lena,

I would use what is on the bottle, since this was actually made for those with

cancer, it is already a conservative dose, a single dose, once daily... the

object of this lower dose is to gently immobilize toxins so they can easily be

flushed from the body.. If you feel you are handling this okay and really you

should, then in a few weeks you can try scaling up to a double dose, once daily

and see how you do with it for a few weeks..

Using Nurse Caisse's recipe calls for 1 oz of liquid concentrate to 2 oz or more

of liquid... But you have no idea how this (yours) liquid was made, if 2 oz =

the same as 1 oz of Nurse Csisse's, then they are selling a weakend formula, but

it is the one you should use, using less may mean you are getting to weak a

tea.... I had absolutely no problems with a single dose, once daily..

Also, this tea should be made from the dry herbs... I don't know the brand you

have, but I did find a few liquid products online, all were made from extracts

and all had extra junk in them or incorrect ingredients and were extremely

expensive... Buying the dry herbs, you can make an 8 month supply (or more) for

about $40, includes shipping!

There should be only 4 ingredients in the tea:

Burdock Root

Sheep Shrrel

Slippery Elm

Turkish Rhubarb

You probably should keep this in the fridge, same as the tea concentrate I

make... Mine has about a 2 week life in there and I have always used it up

before it got bad..

When are you leaving?

Take care,

Jim

Jim,I was impressed with your personal results using Rene Caisse's Essiac Tea. Like Lena, I went down to my health food store. I didn't find Liquid Essiac, but I did find a bottle of liquid Ojibwa Tea which only has the four herbs you talk about.I researched this further and found that Rene Caisse got the formula from a woman that cured her Breast cancer using the tea. She had gotten the formula from an Ojibwa Indian Medicine Man. Ms. Caisse had great results using this formula for cancer and for other sick people. The formula is believed to, "normalize body systems by cleansing the blood, purging toxic build up, promoting cell repair, and aiding in effective assimilation and elimination". Rene Caisse used the herbal tea herself every day and lived to be 90 years old. She died in 1978.The bottle of Ojibwa Tea I purchased was done by NOW Foods and was $31.00 for 16 fluid ounces. They claim the tea concentrate is formulated in specific proportions according to a well-known traditional Ojibwa Indian formula using only the four herbs you listed in your email. The dosage is one tablespoon added to hot or cold water, preferably on an empty stomach. They claim to have increased the concentration of the herbs by weight to create a concentrate equivalent to six times the comparable tea strength.I plan to give it a try. If I like the results I may try to make my own using your formula to decrease costs. Thanks for the information.Steve"One person can make a difference."

Hi Lena,Sounds like your tea is the correct concentrate, so should be exactly like the concentrate we make.. What is chia meal?I didn't know you were having surgery... Raw honey on a wound helps it heal faster..  Are you going

to be a one handed typist for a while.. :-) Hope the surgery is a good success.. http://www.drgrotte.com/honey-medicine.shtml

Boy, do I agree with you wholeheartedly about service at retailers in the US... I think customer servicein most places stinks and is a disgrace.. My wife and I talk about this often, there was a time retailers

really thanked you for shopping with them, now it feels like you should be glad they are there to sellyou things... I blame both WalMart and the Internet for this.. Some online retailers I buy from never even

say " thank you for your business! " And our local WalMart's make you feel like you are interruptingwhatever it is they do there and seldom when we pay do we get a " thank-you! " .. They know because

of their low prices people will shop there no matter  what, so why offer any kind of service... I recall when Sam was alive, signs were posted at the registers  " If there are more than 3 people in line, we will open more registers. "

Those signs are long gone and it is typical in our WM to stand in  line for 20 - 30 minutes, my wife always calls for thestore manager and tells him/her  to open more registers, but the answer always is " we don't have any more cashiers. " Crazy...

I guess because Internet retailers don't see you, there is not that person to person connection.. But this should make no difference... I believe when someone takes my money, they always should say " thank-you. "

And if they were smart, they'd also say " please come back! " But I never hear that anymore.. Good service is unfortuatelya thing of the past in many businesses today...

Take care,Jim

Re: Re: OT: DETOX TEA! Prep for travel arrrgh!

Hi Jim,

This liquid is Caisse's Tea ®, the Original Canadian Formula, so I trust it will be a good intro for me, until I can craft my own from dry herbs. It's just polarized water and the four herbs. Must be refrigerated after opening. Yes, it was expensive, but at this time, with a short window of time for ordering the dry stuff, expedient.

I just started taking chia meal, so I may wait on the Essiac for a couple weeks, as I don't like starting more than one thing at a time.

Surgery is Monday, and he wants to take out the stitches 2 weeks after, so I guess that's when we'll leave.

Ordering everything we'll need for 6 months has been hairy, This country is no longer service-oriented, and orders have been botched, or messed up and I'm still sweating out whether a distiller replacement part will ever come. I checked on the rubber boot order and some dufus never placed it, so they've placed it again and now I'm waiting, hoping. Arrrrrgh! Fortunately, the tendonitis has been subsiding anyway.

The 2-week after-care for the thumb may prove to be a blessing, after all at this rate.

Be well,Léna

Hi Jim,I've been unable to get my mail since yesterday afternoon, and am presently reading it all on a back-up. Funny timing, both computer and hand are wonky. This may be my last post for a few days, between the limitations of both.Chia meal is chia seed, finely ground. And It caused a herx! I've been reading about chia; and Marc Fett says it's an excellent supplement, as well. It may mean i can cut down on some of my other supplements. Yay!The surgery will be with local anesthesia, for trigger-finger of the right thumb. I tried all the DIY stuff I could, thinking it was a ganglion cyst, but films and his exams said otherwise. Needed to get this resolved before getting on the road. He's totally on board with silver dressings, no abx cut CS, and was very respectful of what i told him about my Lyme protocols. Good vibes. I'm doing some4 hypnotherapy suggestions today to get my body open and psyched for the cutting (normally the body has a natural 'flinch', which can increase bleeding and slow healing.)Meanwhile, I'll twiddle my thumb, (singular) waiting for shipments to arrive. Have made my last capsule, reinforced some stitching in the Airstream upholstery today, knowing this would be my last chance, and hope the computer is recovered when I am.Thanks for the link!Be well,Léna Hi Lena,Sounds like your tea is the correct concentrate, so should be exactly like the concentrate we make.. Our bodies need lots of magnesium but it does not digest most magnesium supplements.with most magnesium supplements your body only absorbs ten to 20 percent of what you take, the rest goes through the body and out.ThoiIt does not do this if you absorb it through the skin Re: OT: Finally, my DETOX TEA!!
