Guest guest
Okay, I got what I wanted, and now I have to prepare. Since I'm not all together with it right now, I need some reminders. I have a meeting with: -Special Ed resource teacher (head of sped and aides) -principal -classroom teacher -school board sped liaison on Wednesday. Community Living advocate is coming by on Monday morning. What to address? My biggest concern is the communication book - or lack of it. Beyond that, I'm at a loss for what to bring up BECAUSE I KNOW NOTHING OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING! They are apparently revising the IEP and my input is scheduled for October 10, a week from Wednesday. I'm in a bit of a panic... Jacquie

I must be there for everything. I don't allow meetings that change anything without me being there or I won't even sign. My meeting is Monday and I'm still looking for support for getting an aide in the classroom. This is one meeting, I am not prepared for. I am so very nervous. For some reason Jacquie, I'm on the downswing too. The sun is shining here though. It may just be all the added stress. I'm snappy though too but maybe that will help at the meeting on Monday. LOL I'll be looking up IEP stuff all day. I'll send any links on to you if they look good. Guest guest
Jacquie, I am sure you can go into a whole spiel with just the fact that you have no clue as to what is happening at school. After that, you can go into the whole monologue about what the purpose of the IEP is if they don't abide by it. has also made some great stride recently. I think you could add onto the goals and objectives also, as well as reconsidering other stuff on the former IEP. I am 150% confident that in any case, you will address everything that needs to be addressed. That's exactly what I'm doing right now, Tina! 8-) This one is from ontario, but it's an excellent description of autism written FOR educators...since, as far as I can tell, my people know shit about autism, I printed it and am taking it with. It might be too basic for your needs (but it IS 16 pages), but if you can't use it, maybe somebody else can! http://mettowas21.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/general/elemsec/speced/monog4.html

Chris's principal has always been there. I like her alot. She is very accessable and trys hard to work with what she has - like the student cadets as aids and the afterschool program for him for homework and social structure. I feel fortunate. There is so much we don't have but I do have staff that care.
Guest guest
My kids principals were present at almost every meeting AND IEP that we've held since elementary school, not the Early On though.
