I tried a couple pther times and got the shakes and nausea immediately. Guest guest
>>So how did you 'rebuild' them??<< I have no boyfriend to stress me, I moved away from my family, I have my own business that is thriving so no boss to stress me, and I was on HC for 18 months all together oin sufficient doses to thoproughly rest my adrenals. In other words they haven't had to do CRAP for a year and a half! Lazy things! LOL I wish I could have a vacation for that long and someone take good care of me! Anyway, I take lots of vitamin C and B trio sublinguals, and CO Q 10, and TONS of sea salt. I eat mostly organic now, and have cut most the bad stuff out of my diet, except coffee. I am in bed at 10PM almost every night and up at 6AM so I am gettign the best part of 8 hours solid sleep every night. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
The purpose of GOING on steroids when you have adrenal fatigue is to rest and allow your adrenals time to heal. Hypothyroidism really wreaks havoc with them as well as making them hypo too. But it is the stresses of them trying to keep your metabolism going that really wears them out and why we have such severe fatigue from them not working correctly. Depending on how stressed your adrenals were and the length of time they have been struggling will determine the length of time you need to be on adrenal support. I hear from 2 months to 2 years. So my 18 months is not out of line at all. But when they are sufficiently rested MOST the time they can start producing their own cortisol again. But if they are still fatigued they will not make enough and you will have a hard PAINFUL time weaning off HC. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Actually the purpose for me to go on steroids was to stop the ulcerative colitis from carrying on. It worked. But the prednisone suppressed my adrenals. This is where I am confused. How can I wake them up and heal them by being on prednisone/cortef which is what started it in the first place??? Do you now see where I am coming from?? Thank you Vicki wrote: > The purpose of GOING on steroids when you have adrenal fatigue is to > rest and allow your adrenals time to heal. Do you now see where I am coming from??<< OK so you do not have adrenal fatigue. You have dependency on steroids. DIFFERENT animal! You just need to SLOWLY taper off them, and depending on how long and how much steroids you may only be able to taper so far. This is what we worry so much about, permananet suppression of the HPA axis. What doses were you on and for how long? -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
>>Why is this different. I'm fairly certain that my adrenals have shut down since taking HC/ pred. for adrenal fatigue<< Because of the dosages. Usually the dosages to stop inflammationin the body are very high, alot higher than what we take for adrenal fatigue. And if it is for longer than a few ,months it can cause permanent suppression. This si why I asked her how much she was taking and for how long. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
So a replacement dose is considered 'safe' in regards to the possibility of reducing the dose to zero.
Guest guest
>>So a replacement dose is considered 'safe' in regards to the possibility of reducing the << Up to a 20MG a day dose is considered very safe, but some doctors say up to 30MG. But beyond 20MG I think it is your own decision. Now I took 30MG for 10 months and have not experienced any damage to my HPA axis. I slept like a baby last night and woke feeling good this morning, and I have only taken 5MG today!!! I did get a feeling of shakiness starting around the time I would have taken the other 5MG I took the last week, but it passed quickly and I feel fairly certain I will now be able to stay at 5MG . SOON TO BE OFF! dose to zero. -- Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV My Ebay Jewelry Store http://stores.ebay.com/valeriescrystalcreations The BEST thyroid website! http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I have been on it for 8 years and it has NOT caused permanent suppression. My 8 am cortisol shows they are stll working but sluggishly. Adrenals do start to shut down, by the way, as soon as you give your body exactly what they already produce. They shrink. They have the ability to start up again but sometimes not. As for me, they are barely doing what they are supposed to do so I supplement with 30mg/day but the goal is to get off asap as the h/c is further supressing the adrenals...however I need the h/c to survive. So I am going to go very slowly as this is best for me. I also take my last dose at 4pm and the next does to follow @ 10 am. so the 18hrs I am fine and the adrenals are supposed to recognise this absence of h/c and 'wake-up' slowly. Does that indicate that my adrenals are still working?
Guest guest
Robin, I wish I could tell you but I do not know. I forget the numbers. For me, I just wanted to know if they are still working. The doc just said they ARE working but minimally. You have to ask your doc what normal is or if they are in the normal or minimal range. ASK questions till he is blue in the face! It is your body and this is important. Vicki -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. That requires being of sound body and mind...I'm not there yet. lol Seriously though, they did a lot of damage (the docs) so I don't have any trust or respect. I could ask them but I wouldn't believe their answer.
