Hello -

I've had this happen to me as well. Ironically, I think it's because

I'm so well-adjusted, and present as so " normal " . Even good friends

are initially incredulous -- " But you seem so normal! How could you

have lived through that and be so NORMAL? You're one of the sanest

people I know! "

I've actually had strangers -- bitter, cynical people -- start

lecturing me about how I've " obviously never suffered " since I'm so

upbeat and cheerful!

The possibility that I've lived through some bad stuff and come out

the other side determined to be happy doesn't seem to occur to people.

Maybe this is the reaction you two are getting as well...
