There is no current cure for celiac disease. It can only be treated by

following a gluten-free diet. There are no magic bullets for this. It is a

genetic auto-immune disease and believing that anything can cure this, without

peer reviewed journal research proof will put believers at risk for secondary

diseases such as other autoimmune diseases and cancer. 41% of adult celiacs

have no symptoms, so how one would decide they are " cured " is concerning. Maybe

these chiropractic quacks need to get sued a few times before they will stop

trying to make money off of the most vulnerable people in society.

the schedule done thru Dec. Anyway, I'm interested in any thoughts, insights

etc... regarding this. TIA

You're right, there is no cure, but maybe there is some glimmer of hope for

some relief ( not from a chiropractor though) This is a release about a new

enzyme that degrades gluten, suggesting that they could perhaps liberalize

their diet. who knows.

This is one reason I don't have a very high esteem for chiros - too much

" selling " of usesless ideas and supplements, devices, etc.

The enzyme would be a wonderful help, but from everything I have read it is only

promising to reduce the risk of contamination from accidental exposure to

gluten, as often occurs in restaurants, etc. It is not expected to replace the

gluten-free diet, just offers added protection. It does give some hope that one

day an enzyme will be developed that will be as effective as lactase enzyme

replacers.

I agree. Being celiac I tend to think of it as my body's way of keeping me

healthy. We eat very little processed foods anymore. At the check out counter I

putting toiletries, fresh fruits, vegs and meat. Everyone else has boxes. It

sort of weird. But then we don't produce much trash at the end of the week.
