Guest guest
The following report, commissioned by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency, was released in February. It is on juvenile suicide while in confinement. It is 84 pages long. It reports that 53% of this population were on SSRIs at the time. http://www.ncjrs.org/pdffiles1/ojjdp/grants/206354.pdf Regards,
Guest guest
I don't know whether the report differentiates between the two. I doubt that it does, but we all know how they skew the data -- so there could be several % of people who killed themselves who weren't technically ON the drug but were in withdrawal. They rarely get all the data right. "Blind Reason" a novel of pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again. Guest guest
** I see it as a good start that the report identifies that 56% of these kids were on SSRIs. Oh, no doubt that is a good starting point, but what if the data showed 60, 70, or even higher % if they took into consideration whose who had been previously treated with drugs immediately preceding their suicides. You know what I mean. I'm not trying to negate the importance of this stat, but I'm also inclined to believe that it is very much higher if they factored in all the REAL data.
