It has been an interesting Friday even from dawn. woke up

early and decided I was perfect for climbing on, until he grew bored

with that and wanted down, as in off the bed, which meant I had to be

out of the bed also.

joined us downstairs for early morning videos while I

pretended to sleep on the couch. This lasted until I roused long

enough to look at my watch and realize that I was late in waking

for school. I raced up the stairs to wake him which

immediately resulted in a tantrum over being late, that transformed

into a tantrum over a sore throat, that became a tantrum over a runny

nose, that evolved into a tantrum over a stuffy nose, which seemed to

set the tone for the entire day.

Somewhere in the middle of all this I threw on jeans, found clothes

for the babies and called school. Gail's school said they would have

her homework in the office at 3:00 and 's thanked me for

not sending him while listening to his tirade in the background.

Friday is normally a preschool day for , and a day in which I

normally schedule things I prefer to get done without him

accompanying me. We went to 's and waited...and waited...and

waited. She didn't show up. No phone call, her phone is

disconnected, no nothing. My preschool teacher is MIA. ACK. I hope

it is nothing terribly serious and that she will be there on Monday

as the only other school that will take him is the ESD preschool, but

not until we get a dx. No one wants a very charming, intelligent

boy that is almost four, not potty trained and displays obsessive

behavior, irrational outbursts, wild fears and irritability over the

the smallest issues. Gee, go figure.

I finally called Chris's paeditrician around 2:00 because he was

still tantruming more or less incessantly. The doc checked him for

strep and, bless him, said to give him benadryl. :) I did! It's

lovely. He's asleep without complaint and without taking two hours

of constant trips out of bed.

OHSU called today finally with an appointment for Gail, November

16th, but still not one for . I asked about that and the

scheduler said she would look at the teams available and see what she

could do. I was really hoping to have him in class with a dx by the

end of the year. Sigh.

This weekend I have all of Chris's schoolwork, plus homework, here

for him to work on. Let's just say I'm not overly optimistic when

asked if we will get it all completed. I must stress the we part of

this as does not do any work at all unless I am right there

with him to assist. Gail is completely out to lunch while she has

been ill so I do not have high hopes for her to get much done

either. This sets the stage for a week fraught with tension and

anxiety provided they both return to school on Monday. Of course if

they are sick longer this only delays the inevitable and adds more to

the work load. Please oh please oh please let them return to school

on Monday. I'm not sure if I will allow to live if he repeats

today's performances.

who is not at all sure she wishes to get up tomorrow.

Poor, poor !

You must mean " interesting " like that Chinese curse about living in

interesting times...

One of my favorite tricks. You can actually get some rest like that, at

least I think you can but I don't know that I would recognize rest if it hit

me in the forehead.

Sounds like Enrique but smaller. I wish Enrique were smaller.

Did they indeed?

Hey, sounds like a perfectly normal kid. Do you think she disappeared

solely because she was 's preschool teacher and just couldn't take

another day of it. And, I ask her, if she can't handle being his teacher,

well, you have to be his mother full-time. Ha. I am getting all worked up

just thinking of this.

Have to remember this.

I am constantly wondering why it all takes so long.

Yup.

Let's hope they make it back to school then.

That would be the " May you have an interesting life " curse.

Case in point here. I was hit in the forehead several times by the

previously mentioned baby in search of more attention from his

nonresponsive mother.

>

I wish were smaller. He is too big to carry back to his bed

which means he is too big. Bigger is not better. Bigger is more

trouble.

They did! I told them they really didn't want him today even though

he wasn't really that ill, and they said that yes, they could hear

him and that was probably not such a good idea if he were to come

afterall.

> > who is not at all sure she wishes to get up tomorrow.

I did. But not until ten! I left them in their father's care this

morning who very wisely let sleeping mothers lie. One child, Gail,

ventured upstairs to ask permission from me since her father was

napping. Why she thought it was okay to wake me and not her father I

don't know, but wake me she did. " Broken, bleeding, burning? " I

queried. " No " she replied. " leave or die " . That conversation

complete I slipped blissfully back into lala land and slumbered until

tenish when I awoke because I had rested. What a lovely moment that

was.

OMG PIMP!!!

That is just absolutely CLASSIC, .

I will definitely borrow that statement if and when my children can

understand it LOL!!!

TOO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Gail... I would have been horrified, though, if my own mother said that

to me LOLOL!!! But hey - I understand! I understand! Goodness knows you

really needed some rest.

Any chance of sleeping in again in the near future? Like... tomorrow

morning?

(I know.. there is no end to my greed).
