I did. The SSA sent me to an independant examiner, and she ran mental tests to

test my memory. I did not do very well. I have worked out a system so that

Sharon can play webcam videos to prove that something was really said or

decided. It is helpinh, but shocking to see things which I do not recollect..I

installed " debut " which is a screen recorder, but will use my netbooks webcam

also.

Did anyone else here on the forum have to take a 2-3 hour mental test to get

disability? I sure didn't. I don't have cirrhosis,but have disablilty for

other things. I'd just like to know if anyone else had to do this or if your

lawyer is nuts himself!?

Lyncia DEAR-Every day you do not recieve benefits, the more money your lawyer

will make. Normally we just trust our lawyers not to be motivated by this, but

in your case, you should have been automatically qualified YEARS AGO. Kidny

transplant list as well as liver transplant list is automatic, or should be.

Both conditions are on the bluebook listing. It seems like your lawyer could be

just stalling to make more money! Talk to the SSA your self, an consider a

different lawyer. You really need to seek additional legal advice. Love, Bobby

I did,but thet thought I had a screw loose for robbing a bank,well actually I

had a cool lawyer, that told me to act fruity, because I could be denied for just

needing a transplant(GO figure),but I was ahead of the game,as soon as I found

out I was sick in 2001, I applied .Didn't quit drinking yet by any means, but got

approved in 2004.Lyncia they are gonna have to pay you all your back pay also:)

From the day you originally applied.I would be a thorn in his ass by

now.......especially the way the government is screwing with health insurance.

Love You!

Lyncia,

By federal LAW your lawyer gets 25 percent of your back pay. Is he waiting for

more backpay? The longer your case goes on, the bigger payout for him. I'd look

at your contract & see if you can find another lawyer.

BTW, these lawyers advertize like they're being nice, THEY DON'T GET PAID

UNLESS YOU WIN. Well duhhhh, it's the FREAKIN LAW!

SORRY THIS TICKS ME OFF !

Love you lady,

Hi:  Jackie here.  After my husband's open heart surgery (2004) we applied for

disability.  It seems you always get turned down the first time.  I was

sitting there watching tv one day and this commercial comes on for Binder &

Binder, so I figure, 'what the heck? It can't hurt to try.'  I called them,

they took the case and got disability for him, retro-active from the time he

became disabled.  Then because of being disabled he got medicare.  Thank God,

because I can't imagine what we would be doing now if he didn't have good

insurance.  Now keep in mind, I'm not endorsing any legal firm, just telling

you of our experience.  Hope all works out for you.   Jackie

Social Security sent me to a psychologist for a mental test and they paid for

it. It only took about a half hour.

Lyncia, just curious,do you have the insuranse without the disability to have the

transplant covered?Just wondering because it's about 5-6 hundred thousand,and I

had to have all everything financially taken care of  before they would put me

on the list, they even have me pre-registered at the hospital. Huggs,
